Vehicle Detail
A sweet little daily driven Bug. She is a European model with working semaphore signals. Has a rebuilt mph speedometer, and new tachometer. 6-volt electrical system with a new battery. Wipers, horn, headlights, taillights, brakelights, interior light all in good working order. Appx. 15,000 miles on a good & strong-running 40 horsepower 1200cc engine. Interior has new carpeting & seat covers. Just needs a headliner. The car is a 1956 body that's on a 1963 chassis. Body is straight, with only a few minor dings here & there..no major issues. Doors open, shut & lock with no flaws. All glass is intact. No cracks, or chips. Included with the sale is all new rubber weatherstripping, seals, fender beading, running-board matting, and nicer chrome strips for running boards. The floors/chassis is in exceptionally good condition! No rot, holes or any major rust issues with floors. Only bondo/filler on body is a 4"x 2" area on lower left quarter panel/heater channel area, which is unnoticeable. Transmission works fine in all gears. Clutch works without issue. Brakes work & stop car. I've installed a 12-volt LED 3'rd brake light in rear window for safer driving. (Can easily be removed for a more vintage look.) So brake & taillights are wired into 2 seperate 12-volt converters. There is an extra converter for a radio, in front trunk. Fuel tank had a broken sending-unit in it, which I removed and covered over the hole. I designed a dipstick orifice in the center of the tank with a homemade dipstick, so I wouldn't run out of gas. Tank does not leak from these 3 closed aperatures. The fuel shut-off/reserve tap & lever under the dash are new. I also installed a new choke cable into the dash hole, but left it coiled in the front trunk - as I do not use it for the engine. All 5 tires still have good tread on them. I've owned the car for 5 years, and never got stuck with it. The only other flaws with car besides no headliner and random small dings in body, is the carburetor throttle-arm bushing is somewhat worn, and affects low idling. (It doesn't snap all the way back to lowest cam on butterfly valve, and will idle @ around 1800-2000 rpm. You have to sometimes lightly kick accelerator pedal to adjust at a stop light.) Also, there is a small hole in lower left side of dashboard from a broken gauge that once sat there. Also has a small hole in rear seat bottom, that's covered with duct tape. Clear Titled and registered as a 1963. And the car's paint-job is not a show-winning one. Not too bad, but if you're a purist, you'll want to redo. Don't hesitate to ask any other questions. Thanks.
