Update: The A/C has been recharged and blows cold!!! Up for your consideration is a 1983 Diesel Mercedes 300SD. This S-Class has the famous 5 cyl turbo diesel that have been known to be extremely reliable and built to last. The car starts up every time, runs and drives good. She gets about 28mpg on the highway. These cars are very simple to work on with no computers or complex emissions controls, and very basic electronics. The leather interior was all reupholstered a few years back and looks great! Tires are in good shape with good of tread. Breaks work fine. Lights all work. It's a classic ride that's built like a German tank. Areas worth noting:The passenger automatic window recently stopped working (I think it's just a loose wire).This is a Florida car and has some heat / sun cracks in the dash and woodwork. See photos. No noticed exterior rust, but has a few spots around the trunk seal. Not visible from the outside. The corners on the hood are slightly bent where the hood meet the windshield, not very noticeable but worth noting, see photos. Shocks could use replacing in the near future. An alignment wouldn't hurt either, but still drives fine as is. I recently took on a few hours road trip and it drove fine. This car can be driven away, no problem and would be fine to take on a long trip. Odometer is not currently working, common on these older Mercedes.
