Vehicle Detail
This is a 1928 Buick Sedan. I have wanted this car since I was sixteen. I knew where it resided and told my wife about it. I used to drive by it, sitting outside under a tarp and day dream about fixing it up and driving it. Ten years later, my wife surprised me with the car. It has been my pet project ever since. I love everything about it, and have thoroughly enjoyed working on it. When I got it, the motor was locked up and the car was in really bad shape. One of the corners of the car leaked and rain water got into it and ruined the interior as well as the wood sub frame for the body. I thought "No big deal" i'll just weld up a metal 1x1 tube frame and affix the body panels to that. Unfortunately i will never get that far. I have had the car for almost 3 years now. The engine was re-built by the previous owner but due to a heart condition the car sat. I got the engine unstuck and have video of the car running and driving to prove it. I can share the link with anyone interested. I have sandblasted the entire frame, numerous engine components. I have primed everything, and had some of the parts coated with Professional grade enamel. I have the body panels in dry storage and they still need to be sandblasted. The body is in remarkably good condition. I have everything for the car, I even have original tools and the license plates from 1928. I am selling this because the area I live in is a flood zone, and the city is buying our house and demolishing it this October. This leaves me with no place to put the car or work on it. I would love to see it go to someone that will enjoy it as much as I have. The car is for sale as-is where is. It is the buyers responsibility to pick it up/transport it. I will assist in any way I can.On Jun-15-16 at 16:37:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello,Due to a large amount of requests, I went to my storage facility today and took some pictures of the cars sheet metal. E bay will not allow me to add more than 1 more additional picture, but I would happily email them to any who request them. I have also been asked what the history of the car is or what do I know about it prior to my owning it, as well as what all has been done to it. The car was restored in the late 1970's (1975-77/78) head to tail. The gentleman I bought it from was good friends with the restorer. When he came into failing health it was sold to the man I purchased the car from. The consensus was that I would be the 4th owner. I know the previous 2 before me. The gentleman I bought the car from drove and enjoyed it until it had a "Loss of power". In 1994/1996 (this is a window, he was not sure of the exact date) he pulled the engine and had the head redone. The work was performed by a gentleman named Buck Colberg who was a bit of a local guru. He specialized in Flathead but was no stranger to anything old and mechanical. After it was put back together and the engine mated back to the car, the Buick was driven to a few car shows and then placed in storage. That is the story of the car up to me. I have some of the body wood I tried to keep to make templates of, but the vast majority of it was too rotten to do anything with. I hope this answers a lot of questions and if there are any further please don't hesitate to ask.
