Vehicle Detail
I have for sale an original Monte Carlo SS, for which I am the original owner. I ordered this car in Oct. of '84, and took delivery in Jan. of '85. It has almost every option available, but due to a mistake by the salesman, he somehow forgot the remote right side mirror and the positraction. I was REALLY mad, but still wanted the car.The engine is original, never been out of the car or disassembled......same for the transmission & rear end. The mileage listed and shown in the pics is correct. The car has never been raced. Aside from a young kid hitting the RF fender after I owned it for about 3 months, the car has NEVER been in an accident. There are some parts that have been replaced, but all replacements are original GM and/or New Old Stock parts. The radio is a Sony head unit, with a 10 disc CD changer in the trunk, although I haven't used it in quite a while. It is somewhat rare, in that there were not many made with the burgundy paint and gray interior. The interior has no rips, tears, or stains. There are a LOT of extras that go with the car, and I will list them at the end. Floors and trunk are all solid, original, no rust or rot. Only thing I did to the body (that I now regret) is I had a sunroof installed. When I ordered it, T-Tops weren't available yet.The car has been painted, due to the problem with "fallout" getting in the paint during original shipping, but as you can see, it's still pretty nice. I did have it buffed out awhile back. I had intentions of taking it to car shows and cruises, but 2 kids in college has put an end to all that. Now, I do want to say that while the car is in excellent condition, it does have some things that need to be fixed/replaced...both mufflers need replacing, there is some "crazing" on the top of the rear spoiler, and there is a small paint bubble near the drip rail on one side. The rear main seal on the engine drips a little, and one door decal needs replacing. The window tint on one door is bubbling a little (I was going to remove all of it). And I guess the carb could do with a rebuild, although it starts right up and idles fine. Now for the extras....these are included in the sale price, so take that into consideration. I'm guessing that all this is worth approx. $2500+ by themselves:Jet Hot coated headers, NIBHigh output coil, NIB1.6 roller rockers, NIBChevrolet Racing valve covers, NIBJet chip, stage 2 (installed) w/original in boxNew batteryExtra computerFront & rear body braces from a Grand nationalEibach 1" lowing springs (rear installed, fronts in box)Complete stainless hard brake line kitCamaro aluminum rear brake drums (Installed)Center console tray (where the shifter goes) NOSBuilt-in (hidden) Whistler radar detector"Monte Carlo SS" floor matsBlack Monte Carlo SS jacket"Heartbeat of America" license plateOriginal shop manual & owners manualOriginal window stickerOriginal dealer brochureOriginal GM restoration packetOther misc. paperwork.Assorted bulbs, filters, original parts, new filters.........and more that I can't remember. This a great looking car, and I've had a lot of good times in it, but it's time for it to go to a new home....hopefully someone who'll take care of it like I did and enjoy it.
