Vehicle Detail

1999 30th Anniversary Twin Turbo Trans Am convertiblecondition: excellent engine: Twin Turbo, LS, 6.8 Liter, 415 Cubic Inch odometer: 31338 title status: clean transmission: automatic This 30th anniversary edition has a 6.8 Liter, 415 CI LS Twin Turbo engine is tastefully built and very fast. There were only a total of 500 of these convertible anniversary cars produced for the USA and 35 for Canada. This is an original Texas low mileage vehicle that has virtually no exterior cosmetic changes and minimal interior changes. However, nearly every other part has been modified, swapped, upgraded or changed by professionals in the industry. This car has never been driven in bad weather of any kind. Original MSRP Window Sticker: $36,555.00. Engine :: The motor is a 415ci Schwankie built forged LS2 V8. It has high end forged pistons, crank and rods. The camshaft is a custom turbo grind by Ed Curtis and Flowtech. The heads are Absolute brand, ported and polished units with Incolnel valves and custom millwork, Crane springs, new rockers and retainers. It has an Evans water pump and a custom radiator and 3 electric fans. It is fully custom from the fuel rails, fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel controller, braided lines, low impedance injectors, injector controller, 90mm throttle body, map sensor, port matched intake manifold and the list goes on and on. The parts total well exceeds twenty thousand dollars, just under the hood. Labor was performed partly by Howard Tanner at Redline Motorsports in Schenectady, NY, now based in DelRay Beach, Florida. The engine is fed by a custom made "one off" twin turbo system custom built by Synapse Motorsports in Glenville NY at a cost of over thirteen thousand dollars installed. Initial tune was performed by Slowhawk Racing in Rhode Island. Transmission :: The transmission is a custom hardened 4L80 by Level 10 Transmissions in NJ. Custom installation was performed by Christopher Lorette, an experienced mechanic and race car builder in Rensselaer, NY. Chassis :: The chassis has been almost fully swapped to Spohn and BMR parts that include a K-Member, fuel tank, lower control arms, upper control arms, panhard bar, transmission and engine mounts, frame connectors, rear shocks. Rear end :: The rear end is a Moser 9" with custom Detroit locker 3:55 gear set. Aftermarket racing custom chromoly drive shaft was also installed. Exhaust :: The exhaust system (turbo-tail pipe) was custom designed and installed and mandrel bent, true dual 3". There are dozens of other related parts that unfortunately were also expensive for the task they perform, including the E-Boost 2 boost controller and torque converter. The roll-cage has a drivers swing out bar and was bolted in so it could be removed. This list of what was done to this car could go on and on... This description was designed to give some idea as to what the underpinnings of the car are. If you wish to discuss the car, it can be done by a phone interview. This is a rare collector car that appears stock, but hides 850+ HP (moderate boost) within a chassis that can take it, with almost no use, built and maintained with an open checkbook. Always garaged and covered, except for limited cruises and occasional shows. This car has not been used for competition or excessive speed and has less than 32k careful miles on the odometer.
