Until now, though, we've only been able to test the light-duty models, a.k.a. the 1500 series. Now, just four months after the launch of the "civilian" versions, we got a chance to take a twirl in the beefier 2500 and 3500 models that make up the mobile muscle of any given municipal economy, hauling everything from farm equipment to construction materials and in the process heaving some desperately needed cash into GM's bank account. Thus, any change to these behind-the-scenes heavy hitters represents big news to a lot of people. And in this case, it's good news. The myriad advancements in interior and exterior design that we've praised in the 2007 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickups have all made it into the new HD versions. The HDs, however, have been beefed up with even sturdier frames, more robust suspensions, and more powerful engines than their light-duty counterparts, or even their 2006-model HD predecessors, for that matter. In other words, they're the strongest and most modern pickups in GM's history. They're also meatier-looking. Both offer bigger grilles, unique bumpers, and taller hoods compared with the light-duty models. As for any significant differentiation between the GMC and Chevrolet versions, well, you're looking at 'em: only exterior styling and an interior trim piece or two. That's it. Numerous Configurations To appease full-size-truck buyers—particularly those in the HD market—it is crucial to offer as diverse an array of configurations as there are uses for each. Consequently, GM offers its HDs with three cab lengths: standard; extended with two rear-hinged, 170-degree-opening rear doors with windows that roll all the way down; and a conventional crew cab with front-hinged doors and a rear cabin that rivals the second row of a Suburban. As with last year's HDs, there are two box lengths, including an eight-foot-long box offered in a single-rear-wheel or dualie design. The 2500 and 3500 models are both offered with a choice of gas or diesel engines and rear- or four-wheel drive. All are mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. One can mix and match as necessary. Sturdier Mechanicals Going from regular strength to extra strength—make that ½-ton/1500 to ¾-ton/2500 or one-ton/3500 in pickup terms—starts with some minor frame changes and includes a wider track, bigger brakes with standard ABS, and a new steering box for the recirculating-ball system. Two suspension packages consist of the base Z85 suspension and, for the first time on HD models, a specifically tuned Z71 Off-Road package on four-wheel-drive models. And in case you're wondering, the difference between 2500 and 3500 models involves a sturdier rear suspension with an added leaf in the rear springs. The rear track is some 8.7 inches wider on 3500 models. Rear-axle ratios are either 3.73 or 4.10, each offered across the powertrain range. Herculean Powertrains Two engines are offered for 2007, both capable of yanking a bank building off its foundation. The 6.0-liter gasoline V-8 produces a none-too-shabby 353 horsepower and 373 pound-feet of torque and comes mated to the six-speed automatic seen elsewhere in the General's full-size-truck family. The new Duramax diesel variant is 6.6 liters large and offers 365 horsepower and a monstrous 660 pound-feet of torque, while emitting less noise and fewer emissions than the Duramax in its predecessor. The diesel also comes mated to the tried-and-true six-speed Allison 1000 automatic transmission. Slick Interior, Added Safety In previous reviews, we've heaped truckloads of adulation on the stellar interiors found in GM's new full-size trucks—all of which apply to the HD models in equal measure. There is more legroom, headroom, and hiproom, as well as better seat adjustability to accommodate a wider variety of drivers. Better outward vision is another outcome of the redesign. Two different interior designs are offered on the Chevrolet and GMC models—lower and mid-grade trim levels of each get the "pure pickup" interior, equipped with a bench front seat and two stacked glove boxes. The highest trim levels are available with the luxury-inspired interiors—i.e., with a dashboard, front bucket seats, and full center console shared with the Tahoe and Yukon lineup—that, by the way, represent the most luxurious interiors GM has ever offered in HD form. Optional on the upper trim levels include leather upholstery, heated front seats, navigation, power-adjustable pedals, and Bose audio. In terms of safety, front airbags are standard, of course, and side bags are optional on most models. A year of OnStar is standard on all, as are ABS-equipped brakes and front-seatbelt pretensioners triggered by front or rear crash sensors. Tire-pressure monitors are standard on all but the big dualies. Capable, not Cumbersome On the road, we found GM's new heavy hitters to be very, very comfortable and, considering their three-ton curb weights, reasonably fun to drive. In fact, particularly when equipped with the 6.0-liter V-8, we wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the HDs and their light-duty clones. Certainly, with the diesel, the character of the acceleration was different but no less impressive. The ride and braking inspired plenty of confidence, but when you're sitting up high, it's best not to push it too much, particularly on the twisty, damp roads for our drive. A relatively high steering ratio and 3.1 turns lock-to-lock take much of the heave-ho out of rounding corners and finessing trailers into their slip at the RV park, and decent feedback is provided by the recirculating-ball system (the light-duty models got rack-and-pinion in their redesign). Towing Of course, no HD would be worth a 10th of its tonnage if it couldn't tow. So we'll have you know that the least of the HD's tow capacities exceeds six tons. The max is a whopping 16,700 pounds for a 3500 equipped with a fifth wheel, and it's 13,000 pounds for any HD with the 3.73 rear end and a standard hitch. We got a chance to tow a 12,000-pound trailer with a Duramax-equipped HD through the mountains outside San Diego on our preview drive. That truck handled the load as if it were a 10-foot aluminum fishing boat. Even more impressive was the composure and lack of noise generated by the powertrain during the process. The previous-generation (2007, not 2008) Ford Super Duty on hand for comparison was painfully slow and even more painfully noisy. HD Pricing The HD starts at $24,575 for the work-truck stripper model, but if we had to live with a big truck, we'd spend an extra $4000 for a more-comfortable LT (Chevy) or SLE1 (GMC) model. Compared with the light-duty models of similar cab/bed/trim, the HDs are about $3400 more, but for that extra coin you get the 353-hp, 6.0-liter V-8 standard. If you want that torque-crazy diesel, get ready to pay an additional $7195.In the world of HD pickups, that represents real value, not just real power. And for 2008, these HDs come in a more comfortable, more livable package than ever. Thus, we predict an even higher percentage of HDs in the mix than before, making the new full-sizers an even greater success for the General than we first thought. Terms & Conditions Now the fine print...We understand you are buying online, but with us you are not buying blind! We handwrite every single description. We provide 24+ high resolution pictures & we inspect and photo what you see and what you can't see. We'll also be glad to email you detailed, closeup pictures of any area you'd like to see more of. People ask us all the time what is the catch to our vehicles. They assume that the prices are low because there is something wrong with them. Nothing could be further from the truth! Our secret is simple...LOW OVERHEAD. We are an internet-only dealer. We do not maintain regular office hours or a large sales facility. We simply have a Mississippi bonded dealer's license, a storage lot, and a computer. Since we don't have dozens of mechanics, helpers, salesmen, secretaries, etc. on our payroll; we are able to sell at greatly reduced prices. You will notice that we sometimes go with private auctions. Our reasons are twofold...the latest scam is to send bogus 2nd chance offers to customers from a fake email address in an attempt to scam them out of money. With a private auction the scammers won't know who our bidders are so if you get a 2nd chance offer from us you will know that it is the real deal! In addition, we set our reserves to sell which upsets other sellers! In fact, sometimes we set our reserve $1,000 or more below what our cost is. This leads other sellers to email our customers and knock our product! We will provide the winning bidder, upon request, with a complete bid history including the usernames & bid amounts of all other bidders. All new or low feedback (under 5 positives) bidders must first email us for no other reason than just to make contact. This way we know we have serious bidders! If you don't make contact we will cancel your bid and black you out from future bidding. We do this to avoid the de@dbe@t bidders, so please respect our policy. If you have a rating of 5 or better you don't have to email us. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy our site and add us to your favorites, because you just never know when your dream vehicle will pop up!!! We've put this vehicle through our EXTENSIVE inspection process & can report it has a great ride & drive! We do our best to let you know of any/all issues we can find on these vehicles since you're buying sight-unseen. The bed is dented on the driver's side behind the rear bumper. It's not very noticeable but it's there if you're nitpicking. WATCH THE VIDEO. If you have any specific questions then don't hesitate to call us email us. Please understand we do our best to describe, in detail, every vehicle we offer to the Ebay public. However, if you have any hesitation during the bidding period, please obtain a Buyer's Inspection PRIOR TO PLACING YOUR BID to satisfy yourself. After the auction ends, understand you are the legal winning bidder of this auction and agree to all our Terms and Conditions. Be sure and take a look at the book values on this vehicle (or any other we have for sale) before you bid. We stopped offering a built-in BuyIt Now option due to ebay's policy of letting anyone with an email address register a username. We had half a dozen de@dbe@t bidders in a row hit the BIN with no intention of paying. We do have a BuyIt Now price so give us a call if you're interested. Make sure you call us for more information on this vehicle. As always though, our reserve is THOUSANDS less than NADA value so bid early & bid often so you don't miss out! Don't be outbid at the last minute! With the eBay proxy bidding system all you have to do is enter the maximum amount you're willing to pay when you get ready to bid. Ebay will then automatically bid against other people for you up to that amount to help make sure you don't miss out. This saves you from getting sniped in the last few seconds of an auction by someone with a computer program. Don't try and bid in small increments at the last minute...go ahead & bid the full amount you're willing to pay then let eBay do the hard work! This vehicle is for sale locally so we must reserve the right to end the auction early due to local sale. However, once the reserve is met then we will let the auction run its course & sell to the high bidder. Now for the rest of the fine print... We will make every reasonable effort to describe the vehicle, and we include many photos to assist in that effort. However, it is important to remember that these vehicles are pre-owned, not brand new. Therefore, minor items such as cigarette lighters, manuals, CD changer magazines, keyless entry remotes, etc. may be missing. And, as with any used vehicle, minor signs of wear may become apparent under close inspection. This may include small chips, light scratches or minor abrasions, wheel scuffs, and other indications of normal wear and tear. We cannot and will not be held liable or responsible for these issues. In most cases we have already driven them 4-800 miles ourselves. Terms of Sale Fee and Tax Information: MS Residents Must Pay The 5% State Sales Tax on all motorized vehicles (7% on anything else such as campers, travel trailers, etc.) and a $100 Title/Doc Fee. Louisiana, Canadian and other foreign buyers must pay a $149 Documentation Fee to cover the extra Fedex and other expenses associated with doing international (and Cajun) paperwork. We do have Mississippi temporary tags available if you desire one for an additional $50. 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra HD Road Test
For those who want it al
First Drive Review
We've run no shortage of coverage of GM's excellent all-new, full-size 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and 2007 GMC Sierra pickups.
That's it.
Numerous Configurations
To appease full-size-truck buyers—particularly those in the HD market—it is crucial to offer as diverse an array of configurations as there are uses for each.
Sturdier Mechanicals
Going from regular strength to extra strength—make that ½-ton/1500 to ¾-ton/2500 or one-ton/3500 in pickup terms—starts with some minor frame changes and includes a wider track, bigger brakes with standard ABS, and a new steering box for the recirculating-ball system.
Herculean Powertrains
Two engines are offered for 2007, both capable of yanking a bank building off its foundation.
Slick Interior, Added Safety
In previous reviews, we've heaped truckloads of adulation on the stellar interiors found in GM's new full-size trucks—all of which apply to the HD models in equal measure.
Capable, not Cumbersome
On the road, we found GM's new heavy hitters to be very, very comfortable and, considering their three-ton curb weights, reasonably fun to drive.
Towing
Of course, no HD would be worth a 10th of its tonnage if it couldn't tow.
HD Pricing
The HD starts at $24,575 for the work-truck stripper model, but if we had to live with a big truck, we'd spend an extra $4000 for a more-comfortable LT (Chevy) or SLE1 (GMC) model. Compared with the light-duty models of similar cab/bed/trim, the HDs are about $3400 more, but for that extra coin you get the 353-hp, 6.0-liter V-8 standard. If you want that torque-crazy diesel, get ready to pay an additional $7195.
In the world of HD pickups, that represents real value, not just real power. And for 2008, these HDs come in a more comfortable, more livable package than ever. Thus, we predict an even higher percentage of HDs in the mix than before, making the new full-sizers an even greater success for the General than we first thought.

Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle.
Now the fine print...
We understand you are buying online, but with us you are not buying blind!
We do our best to let you know of any/all issues we can find on these vehicles since you're buying sight-unseen.WATCH THE VIDEO.

Folks, we don't mean to sound harsh, but we do sell used vehicles. If you want one in brand new condition then go pay anywhere from $20-60,000 or more at a new car dealer. We Disclose our cars as much as we can, But don't forget you are bidding on a USED car. If you have any questions about the condition please feel free to contact us.
We Sell At Below-Wholesale Prices And Cannot Provide Spare Keys Or Floor Mats Unless They Are Already With A Vehicle. Feel free to contact us if you need this information. We CANNOT Be Held Responsible For Expenses Or Repairs Beyond The Point Of Delivery. We say this for the simple fact that once you leave then what happens hundreds of miles down the road is out of our control. We do our best to make all our vehicles road-ready. In most cases we have already driven them 4-800 miles ourselves.
Terms of Sale
Fee and Tax Information:
MS Residents Must Pay The 5% State Sales Tax on all motorized vehicles (7% on anything else such as campers, travel trailers, etc.) and a $100 Title/Doc Fee. All Other U.S. Buyers Will Pay Their Own State Taxes Themselves In Their Home State. All other bidders pay only a $99 Documentation Fee in addition to the winning bid. This covers our costs for a notary, Fedex charges, and other paperwork. Louisiana, Canadian and other foreign buyers must pay a $149 Documentation Fee to cover the extra Fedex and other expenses associated with doing international (and Cajun) paperwork. We do have Mississippi temporary tags available if you desire one for an additional $50. However, we've sent hundreds of cars, trucks, and RVs all over the country without them & nobody has ever had an issue driving home. If you want one, LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE. We do not keep them on hand.
Winning bidder MUST contact us within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangements for payment at that time. Balance due within 5 days of auction end. This is due to the large number of de@dbeat bidders out there.
