Vehicle Detail
1972 CB175 K6 Here is a very nice 1972 CB175 K6 Twin in Honda’s “Candy Gold” color. This motorcycle is a great example of what used to be commonly referred to as a “light twin”. This bike is ideal for riding along some nicely twisting country back roads. Mechanically, this CB175 runs great. It starts easily and settles into an even idle. It pulls well through the gears and stops smoothly. Headlight, taillight, brake light, turn signals, instrument lights, high beam indicator light and horn all work properly. Front and rear tires have good tread. The seat cover and strap are the original Honda parts, and are in great shape, including the seat trim. The gas tank is in above average condition with only a few minor imperfections. The inside of the tank is clean. The side covers look good, but the right side cover has a noticeable scratch, and a repaired mounting tab corner. The left headlight ear has some damage, and the chrome on the front fender and headlight rim have some scrapes. Overall, though, the paint and chrome are in above average condition. The original petcock started to leak recently, so a new Honda petcock was installed. The carbs have been cleaned, rebuilt and synchronized, and the fuel lines have been replaced with new ones. The only glaringly non-original parts on this bike are the mufflers. The originals rusted, as most do, and were replaced with classic aftermarket megaphone-style mufflers. They attach to the original beautiful chrome header pipes perfectly. The replacement mufflers are louder than stock, but not obnoxious. They give this small 360-degree-crank engine a classic Triumph Bonneville sound! Most of the other items on this 40+ year old motorcycle are also in well above average condition. It is not perfect, but nevertheless, it is still stunning. As it stands now, this CB175 is ready to be ridden and enjoyed. I have owned this bike for many, many years. Now is your chance to own this classic. I have loaded several videos of the bike onto YouTube including two walk-arounds, and a 10-minute ride-along over some beautiful Pennsylvania back roads.
