Vehicle Detail

1979 Honda XL250-S Dual-Sport 250 With Many Extras! I got this from the original owner. Only 5489 miles on the clock, and the engine is nice and tight. Exhaust is hybrid Honda / SuperTrapp. Trip odometer broken, some gravel rash on front fender, headlight rim. Small scratches on otherwise beautiful, clean tank, small worn spot on side panel. Original graphics intact. Kill switch bottom mount broken, but still fits under mirror mount. Both tires shot, but comes with brand-new still-wrapped front tire and a set of fork seals. Rear shocks replaced, springs repainted. Needs air cleaner. I cleaned the carb, and it started on 2nd kick after 25+ year storage in clean, dry SoCal garage. Small light rust on handlebars and other paint-chipped areas. One broken turn signal. Comes with original toolkit, saddle strap, new front tire, fork seals, clear title, 2 keys, signed over Calif. pink slip, original advertisement brochure, Genuine Honda Factory Shop Manual and the wheeled stand shown in the pictures. See what work I'd done on the bike here: http://www.vintagemotorcycletools.com/HondaXL-250S.htm That's all the pertinent info - thanks for checking this out! If you want more details, read on... This belonged to my cousin, the original buyer. Our family was into dirt bikes from the mid-60's. As the 80's approached my cousin sold her dirtbikes and joined my brother in street riding. This was her first street bike. Shortly after this, they both bought Harleys, and at last count she had over 100,000 miles on her latest Road King. I bought this bike to restore in 2008, and did some of the basic work then. (again, see the website above.) Since that time, some health issues have forced me to stop riding, and I no longer have the heart for restoration if I can't ride 'em. This is my last project to sell off. As it's well over 25yrs. old, it's considered a classic bike, and would make a very good basis for a Concours presentation. Except for the exhaust, it's all stock, with even the stock tool kit in it's box. If you're interested in Concours, contact me. I have the original sales receipts and handlebar tag, and would consider selling these, too. A lovely bike.On May-09-16 at 17:25:39 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE - NO ZERO FEEDBACK BIDDERS! THANK YOU!
