Selling my 2003 Mercedes SL500, Rare Launch Edition Designo in excellent condition. Always a California car. With heated, cooled and massage seats. Suede headliner. Recent service with new ABC suspension accumulator and dampener, newer tires and front brakes, Designo package. The color is very unique. A Green/Silver metalic. The paint is excellent with only a few very small chips see photo at gas cap cover. The black interior is also excellent. Staggered AMG chromed rims (one rim has chrome peeling). Power hard top works well. Very powerful car and a joy to drive. 72000 miles Clean carfax and title. The rub: I purchased the car from the second owner. The first owner was a Mercedes dealership who used it as an executive car. The second, private owner purchased it with about 16,000 miles on it. When I purchased the car, there was an issue with the ABC suspension. My mechanic replaced the passive dampener and the front accumulator. That seemed to resolve the warning light issue. However, if the car sits for several days, it collapses on the left (drivers) side. When you start it up and put it in gear, it comes right back up to normal height and performs normally while driving. My mechanic believes the valve blocks in the ABC configuration may need to be replaced. This runs about $4000 through a dealership. They are also available online in a rebuilt condition for far less. I was going to sell the car for $16,000 which I believe is a fair price. I am going to list the car at $12,000 in "as is" condition, leaving the $4000 credit with which to repair the Valve Blocks. These can also be rebuilt for a fraction of the cost to replace new. Buyer responsible for pick up and delivery.
