Vehicle Detail
Beautiful 1964 Ford Thunderbird. Good overall condition. Garaged most of its life. Solid car.Strong 390cid/300hp V8, with 4bbl Autolite 4100 carburetor, and a 3 speed (D1, D2, L) Cruise-O-matic automatic transmission. Only 73,4xx miles and sounds awesome!N.B.: All the work I've done was because I was going to keep this car and wanted to trust its various components. All were working fine, but at least now I know their age!For car value determination, please look at:nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1964/Ford/Thunderbird/2-Door-Hardtop/ValuesLow retail $9,000 Average retail $15,250 High retail $22,000Car visible in Corvallis (OR)The good:-Have the original owner's manual. Car was bought in a Los Angeles (CA) dealership on 08/04/1964-Paint is in good shape with little spots here and there. Repaint in the future-Rare "Inca Gold" paint-Chromes are all there and good but show some normal aging. The only one that is partially rusted is the bottom part of the front bumper -Strong engine and transmission: no smoke/particles when accelerating-Slide away power steering-Brakes strongly-Fully cleaned and professionally rebuilt carburetor-New starter motor-New Fuel pump-Installed see-through gas filter between fuel pump and carburetor-New spark plugs and spark plug wires-New points and condenser-New distributor cap-New vacuum advance controller-New Air filter-New doors lock and ignition key set-New windshield washer bag and pump-New battery and battery cables-New power steering belt-New alternator spacer for perfect alignment-Oil and oil filter changed less than 50 miles ago-Coolant fluid changed less than 100 miles ago-Power steering fluid replaced less than 100 miles ago-No body rust (except for battery plate)-All the glass parts are good-Replaced some of the vacuum and various other tubings-Windows roll up and down correctly (but one, see here after)-The car is all complete except for the parking break release handle and the right outside mirror-White wall tires have lots of thread in them but old-built and dry-The inside carpet is past its prime but still holding well-New 10 layers car cover-Tags good until November 2016The less good:-Trunk "carpet" is good but past its prime-Door panels show signs of wear, especially the driver's side-2 cracks on the dashboard (foam dried)-Driver's seat needs new foam (foam is dry)-Passenger vent window isn't controlled by its handle (likely the regulator gear)-Most inside gauges are not functional: I think they all have the same cause (fuse box imo)What needs to be done:-The doors and the trunk weather strips need replacement, so the car cannot stay outside if it rains -New set of tiresAll together it is a great, fun and strong car to drive around. There are a few things to work on to make it even better but it can be used as is. Rest is a matter of personal preferences and can be addressed little by little as budget allows.Car easily worth between 9K and 12KThank you for looking at this add.CheersKeywords: Tbird, Thunderbird, 1964, Ford, classic, vintage, mustang, pony
