Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my restored 1970 Camaro. Over $30,000 dollars has been invested in restoring this vehicle with over $20,000 in purchase receipts/documentation that will go with the vehicle. The cost to rebuild a car to this condition will far exceed my asking price, let alone the money already spent in restoring. I have the clear and clean Tennessee title in hand. I’m really looking to trade this vehicle, but will sell it outright if someone wants to purchase without a trade. I would be interested in trading up (my car, plus I give you money), or down (my car, plus you give me money) or even (car for car). I’m interested in the 1st generation Camaro, Fastback Mustang, Corvette (2005 and up or 1970 and older), Chevelle, Mopars, 2007+ Jeep Wranglers (2 door automatics), and will consider other vehicles. The market value on these Camaros are all over the place – you don’t see too many in this condition for under $25,000, so if you’re looking to trade even I would put a fair market value on this vehicle in the $21,000 - $23,000 range – please honestly value your trade offers the same. Overall this is an ABOVE average driver quality car. I’m extremely picky and as we all know some people’s “great” is more like other people’s “average” when it comes to condition. The car shows well and draws constant attention – even when just stopping at a gas station. This is not a frame off, Concours show car with a $10,000 paint job, but it’s extremely sharp and something the new owner can be proud of. The VIN: 124870N554575 The Cowl Tag: •ST 70 12487 NOR 307984 BDY •TR 711 67 67 PNT •O6A Here’s what the car has that makes it unique for a SS tribute/clone: •12 Bolt rear end •Low back seats •SS Steering wheel and badging •Came with solid front bumper, but prior owner purchased new “split” bumpers for restoration •Came with fenders that had holes for SS badging EXTERIOR: This is a very solid vehicle – solid frame and underside. The exterior looks awesome in glossy Hugger Orange and shows well. The paint is super glossy and looks great – I can pick out some defects in the paint upon close inspection (blemishes in the roof, upper quarters, some very small nicks here and there, a very small ding in the door and two small bubbles in the lower portion of the driver’s and passenger side doors). Any defects present do not detract from the overall beauty of this vehicle – just don’t expect pristine flawless show car paint, rather an ABOVE average, VERY nice paint job that shows well but has some defects present. New chrome all the way around and lights. New door and trunk seals and such. Doesn’t seem like too much wasn’t replaced during restoration – about the only thing original is the doors, trunk and roof. All lights work – parking, stop and turn signals. I would rate the exterior a solid 7.5-8 out of 10 with 10 being show room new. Trust me, this car looks nicer than most 2 year old cars driving down the road. The list of receipts for the exterior goes on and on. New quarters, fenders, front/rear pans, bumpers, gas tank, lights, front nose, grill, badges, window trim, windshield, seals, hood, and markers. Hugger Orange - paint code 65 (The white stripes are under the clear coat and cannot be felt when running hand over the paint – that’s how smooth they were sanded during finish!). The car is straight – only slight body wave can be seen on the doors when looking hard down the side of the vehicle. Paint is glossy and shows well. INTERIOR: The interior is very clean and shows well. Over $2,000 in parts was spent on the interior alone – seats were reupholstered and look fantastic, new carpet, new headliner and new dash. Staple shifter looks great as does the console. Shoulder belts up front and lap belts in the rear. Glass looks great. I would rate the interior 8.5–9 out of 10. The instrument cluster appears original and has some hazing on the plastic cover. Speed odometer works, gas gauge works, but the needle floats when driving. Wipers work as do all the running lights, brake lights and turn signals. Horn is disconnected. The Generator, Oil and Temp lights work. Aftermarket stereo works and is in the glove box. The factory stereo is in the dash where it belongs. This is an AC car – but the compressor is missing, so it’s a non-air car now, but has the guts of an air car if one adds the compressor and other parts needed. ENGINE/TRANSMISSION: It runs FANTASTIC – no issues with the engine/transmission whatsoever. A new crate 5.7L GM engine was professional installed by a prior owner – I have the receipt for over $5,000 spent on the work! New just about everything. It runs perfect with no excuses – starts right up even after sitting weeks. The 350 turbo transmission has a mild shift kit that will chirp the tires going into 2nd or leave it in drive and just enjoy the ride. Shifts through all three gears perfect and runs great. Power steering and brakes work as they should. Tires have excellent tread but need to be balanced - slight front tire rub when turning sharp corners. I have owned several classics and this one drives great for a 46 year old car. It was estimated less than 3000 miles have been put on the engine since the install and this is a GM crate 350 that is a Chevy workhorse. The car start, idles and runs and drives great with on noises or pulling. Stops as it should. Awesome exhaust note that flows through FlowMaster dual mufflers. SUMMARY: I want to be clear on something – this a turnkey Camaro that is ready for immediate enjoyment. A ton of money was spent getting this one ready for the road. As I said earlier, I’m a picky person, so I will not try to overstate my Camaro. This is NOT a frame off restoration or trailered show car – if you’re looking for that you can stop and open your wallet because you’ll be spending a heck of a lot more than what this one will bring. It is an ABOVE average driver quality vehicle that can be driven and enjoyed from day one. These second generations are increasing in value fast and this one will only go up in value. The car might need some odds and ends (glove box lock, window crank retaining spring,ect...), but nothing material and nothing a new owner couldn’t easily complete in due time. Again, the cost to rebuild would far exceed the asking price AND more money was spent on this vehicle than the selling price. I work a hectic schedule, but will try to respond to questions within 24 hours. Text me if you are interested in more photos. I gave the wrong number prior to this!! My number is (615) 775-4031. Ron
