Vehicle Detail
This is a well maintained classic cruiser that the family can proudly show or take to cruise in. The odometer reads 56K miles and talking to previous owners and looking at receipts I believe the mileage to be original and correct. Receipts date back to 1988. If you are looking for a GM “A” body (CHEVROLET CHEVELLE, CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO, CHEVROLET MALIBU, PONTIAC LEMANS, PONTIAC TEMPEST, PONTIAC T37, BUICK SKYLARK, BUICK GS, OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS, OLDSMOBILE 442) you may want to consider this car. PAINT – BODY The paint and body are in great shape. The previous owner stripped it to bare metal and had it painted the original Bamboo Yellow, he removed the vinyl top and painted the top saddle brown (I can see a little bronze in it also and it looks great) about 10 years ago and it still looks great. The paint is smooth as a baby’s butt and just received a professional clay bar, wax and sealant detail by “Focus on Detail” in Orange Park, FL. And it shines like a diamond in a goat’s butt. The undercarriage is clean, solid and dry. INTERIOR The interior is nice, clean, dry and mostly original. At some point the carpet, front seat padding, radio and steering wheel was replaced. The windows roll up and down with ease and the windows are limo tint all around for a sinister look. The A/C blows cold, the heater blows hot and the tilt wheel works. All gauges and interior lights work. SUSPENSION-BRAKES-WHEELS-TIRES The car drives and tracks straight. All suspension components work well and are in good working order. The power brakes are in fine working order. March 2016 new master cylinder, 4 new wheel cylinders and 4 new KYB GAS-ADJUST shocks were installed. The wheels are in fantastic shape and painted the same color as the top. The BFG T/A’s have plenty of tread left on them. ENGINE –TRANS The engine runs strong and burns nothing and drips nothing. ENG/TRANS were rebuilt about 25K miles ago. The transmission shifts smooth through all ranges. March 2016 new Pertronix Igniter III distributor, Pertronix III coil, new Power Master Hi Torque starter, new voltage regulator, new horn relay, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires, timing set, transmission flushed and filled, rear differential flushed and filled, etc… December 2015 the original carburetor was professionally rebuilt, new Magna Flow type mufflers installed and exhaust work performed. The car looks, runs and sounds great. I would not hesitate to turn the key and drive anywhere on the planet. I bought this car to keep it as I really like the 68-72 “A” body cars (my high school car was a 72 Pontiac Le Mans Sport). However, my wife does not share my passion and does not want to see it at our house much longer . Furthermore, I found out that the phrase “Do whatever you want to do” does not really mean that at all!!
