I PUT IT AT THE PRICE IT WAS AT WITH AN ENDING TIME WITHIN AN HOUR OF WHEN IT WOULD HAVE, SAME AUCTION, BETTER PICTURES AS REQUESTED!! CLEAN TITLE IN HAND - ALL VINS MATCH THE TITLE AND EACH OTHER AS PICTURED!! NICE STRAIGHT BUMPER MOUNTS FRONT AND REAR, NO SIGN OF MAJOR COLLISION!! THIS CAR IS SUPER RARE!! This is the earliest and easily the most collectible and valueable of the Water Cooled VWs. Do your research, hit the google with differences between a Rabbit and a Swallowtail, there are somewhere between 60-200 variations depending on how far you go between this Swallowtail Rabbit and all other Rabbits after it. Some obvious and usually mentioned are the brake lines running inside of the cabin of the car (present here), metal blinker and wiper stalks (present here), smoothie hood (no front body line in the hood, present here), "swallow" tail panel (present here), diagonal pattern and diagonal door pulls on door panels (black, present here), the list goes on and on. This car has only one hydraulic strut holding the rear hatch up (swallowtail only) as well as original bumpers, markers on front fenders, etc... RUST IS NOT A MAJOR ISSUE HERE, ONE SPOT OF RUST THROUGH ON EXTERIOR OF BODY (drivers side rear bottom, pictured) NICE SOLID STRUT TOWERS, SOME RUST ON DRIVERS FLOOR (not bad) PICTURED SOLID ORIGINAL PANEL ORIGINAL PAINT! Both CRAZY RARE Rabbit Fender Emblems are intact and in good shape! Door Cards are all four there and in good shape! Seats are not original, Original Flag Mirrors, Original Metal Clip On "Air Cooled / Beetle" side trim all in tact (swallowtail only), original Metal Door Handles PUSH IN WITHOUT REMOVABLE CENTER TRIM (Swallowtail Only), COOL CAR!! This Car runs good enough to drive onto a trailer or transporter, really good enough to drive around town maybe better I just havent tried, last summer I changed all fluids, updated the fuel pump, fuel filter, cleaned the carburetor, changed the engine oil, transmission and coolant. I drove it a couple of times at speeds under 55 MPH, the brakes stop it effectively, engine has good power especially for being attached to an Automatic transmission. The transmission shift at higher RPM like my research says they are supposed to. I am not very familiar with these automatics, it seems to work like it is supposed to but again I dont have but maybe 15-20 miles of drive time on it. Engine does not overheat but it does smoke a little, could probably use to be driven some, been sitting over 20 years before I revived it! SOLID STRUT TOWERS, ALL ORIGINAL PANELS!, SOME TOUCH UP OVER THE YEARS ON CHIPS AND SUCH BUT OVERALL A PRESENTABLE PATINA'd COOL RABBIT!! Some dents and dings as pictured, only rust I found was in the drivers quarter pictured and the floor in the front, spare tire well back and passenger floors look nice. Rain tray is good. Currently in dry storage, it has been stored inside for some years now, along with all 6 of my Caddy Pickups and my 10 second 1/4 mile 79 Rabbit (Turbo G60, 30psi, spool, 12in slicks, MORE). I am certainly a water cooled VW enthusiast. I have a Swallowtail carcass I would rather put my 16v in and coilover cut and hack, this car is far too original for me to put my molester on :) Sweet car for you! I am happy to assist with shipping including delivering this car to any depot up to 100 miles away for FREE and anything past that for $2 per mile anywhere in the world. Or again, I can bring it to a local depot for you to have shipped less expensive than that to your destination or you or the shipper can come right to my shop. Wish I didn't need the room, hate to see it go, NO RESERVE BID TO WIN!! On Mar-17-16 at 22:38:32 PDT, seller added the following information: If anybody would like additional pictures of anything or would like to talk or text me in person please feel free to contact me at any hour at 509.869.3966 . I ran out of pictures at 24 so if you would like to see, for instance, asked a couple of times, the rear "swallowtail" panel I am happy to send over pics, it is very nice and straight for the record, and is the correct original with original paint "Swallowtail" Panel as pictured all over the internet. Again text email or call anytime. I am a water cooled VW enthusiast, any depth of question is good with me. FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ANYTIME!! Thanks, smallblockfox I HAVE AN EXTRA BUCKET OF MISCELLANEOUS PARTS FOR THIS CAR INCLUDING AN AIR CLEANER AND OTHER TRINKETS, I CAN INVENTORY AND OR PICTURE PARTS INCLUDED IF YOU WOULD LIKE, NOTHING MAJOR BESIDES THE AIR CLEANER NOT PICTURED BUT INCLUDED-
