Cosworth Vega #1915. This car was the recipient of a turbocharger conversion in California in the 1980s. It was then sold and brought to Kentucky, where it was driven for a couple years, then moved into a basement garage for storage. It sat from 1985 until I purchased it in 2012. It still has tow bar brackets chained to the bumpers from the last time it was towed. I've stored it inside while I've owned it, with the exception of the last year that it's sat outside in our parking lot waiting for me to find time for it. I need to downsize a few projects. I don't know the specs on the turbo or the wastegate, but I've talked to a couple Cosworth folks who say these motors adapt very easily to turbocharging with stock injectors and computer. The fab work on the header, for example, is very well done. Needs some vacuum plumbing sorted out, and exhaust connected to the header. The only odd thing I've noticed so far is the inlet pipe from the turbo the throttle body passes close to the battery box and will probably require a smaller or shorter battery. Overall its a great car, and very solid for a Vega. Front frame is excellent. Rear frame is also excellent, except for some rust around the right rear lower control arm bracket (see photo). It will need attention but I don't think its in danger of pulling apart. Inner quarters/trunk drop offs have a couple holes as shown. Exterior was repainted back in the 80's. Aside from the trunk and wheel well work mentioned below, it doesn't appear to have had any other repairs to fenders, quarters, etc. Floors are solid. Doors are clean but have a little bit of bubbling. Great hood, missing hinges ( I may have a set...previous owner had installed a homemade cowl hood and I replaced it) Hatch has some surface rust under the edge but is the best hatch I've had of all my vegas. Trunk is clean but the spare tire well and a spot on the inner fender has evidence of an old pop-riveted sheet metal patch. (see photos) Needs brakes rebuilt. Fuel tank has been removed, cleaned, and is ready to reinstall. Tires hold air only for a day or two so I have blocks under the car. Matching spare wheel is in the back seat. Previous owner installed new carpet but didn't finish bolting down the rear seat and seatbelts. Chin spoiler and a handful of spare trim is in the trunk. The motor runs and sounds good. I started it a few times over the years and it runs well. The turbo spools up as it should and injection seems to work fine. I was able to run it off a fuel can but the high pressure pump under the frame recently died, so I can only run it on starting fluid now. parts included - NEW set of 185-70R13 tires purchased last year but not mounted new master cylinder, hoses, pads. I should also have a set of calipers and wheel cylinders somewhere. new OEM in-tank pump, plus a Fiero pump to convert from the current 2 pump system to a single, in-tank pump (easy to do) cap, rotor, plug wires K&N style cone filter for the turbo chin spoiler spare wheel loose windshield trim passenger sport mirror.
