Up for auction is a 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible that I purchased from the same owner for 34 years, a true barn find that he was going to restore but never got around to it. I bought the car to do all the mechanical work that was needed to get it up and running and drivable and resell it. What was done was the gas tank and sending unit was replaced along with the fuel pump. The carb was taken apart and cleaned and accelerator pump replaced. The brakes were all cleaned, the master cylinder was replaced and the wheel bearing all cleaned and repacked. At this point it was time to start it up. The car runs and idles with no smoke or oil burning. We then went and replaced the heater core it was leaking, we also went and replaced the alternator and installed a new battery. The tires were replaced by the previous owner back in 1988 they are like new but I would replace before I started driving it on the street. The car comes with a folder of receipts that the old owner gave me. Things that don't work the heater blower motor works if you jump it, I think the heater switch is bad, the radio does not work. All lights work it, I drove the car and took it up to 55mph but a long distance do to the fact that I had no plates on it. The frame, strut towers floors are all rust free. The drivers door has a rust hole in the lower corner. The hubcaps were all new in ford NOS so we installed them. This would be the perfect car to restore the interior is in excellent condition, the paint is bad and the top is old but for the reserve I set on the car it's worth doing.
