History: The Chevrolet Camaro is an automobile manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand, classified as a pony car, and some versions also as a muscle car. It went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang. The car shared its platform and major components with the Pontiac Firebird, also introduced for 1967. The second-generation Chevrolet Camaro was produced by Chevrolet from 1970 through the 1981 model years. It was introduced in the spring of 1970. It was longer, lower, and wider than the first generation Camaro but a convertible body-type was no longer available. GM engineers have said the second generation is much more of "A Driver's Car" than its predecessor. This 72 Camaro Z28 is a rare early year classic car that is quickly becoming a very desirable investment. Details: This 1972 Camaro Z28 has a solid body and very little rust which is rare to find on classic cars! It is carrying a newly rebuilt mild performance engine and drivetrain, perfect as a daily driver or foundation for performance. The car is set up for air conditioning but is missing the air compressor and therefore is currently not working. However, the heat and fan controls are functioning if you live in a cooler environment. The interior still needs a little bit of restoration such as the dashboard and gauges and radio but the headliner, upholstery, and comfortable leather seats are all brand new! The seats have the longer tracks making it great for taller people who may have trouble fitting in older cars. This is a great car to drive every day without any worries. The paint has some imperfections and shows some aging but still shines nicely. With a few interior repairs, a basic tune up, and an exterior detail, this Camaro is full of potential to quickly becoming a show quality car! This car runs and drives great and can be driven on long trips with ease. Under the Hood: The Chevy 350 engine and Turbo Hydramatic 350 3-speed transmission were recently rebuilt. The transmission was rebuilt with a shift kit for nice firm shifts at lower speeds. As previously mentioned, the engine has some mild performance features that make the car lope like a big block. These include but are not limited to: a mild cam, Edelbrock Intake Manifold, rebuilt Rochester 4-Barrel Carburetor, and Exhaust Headers leading up to a custom dual high performance exhaust system that looks and sounds just as mean as a true American Muscle Car should sound. The rear end is a 10-bolt non-positive traction (aka ‘posi’ rear, limited slip rear, etc.) with a ring and pinion ratio of 3.43 which still maintains the car’s fuel economy but does not deprive it of its torque.
