Its a great looking 37 year old car ready to be driven and enjoyed! A great year for the 450SL Model; Clean, original, unmolested car: I purchased this car from the estate of the 2nd owner, an 80 year old local NJ business owner. The car has always been looked after by professional Mercedes mechanics and has been garaged and well cared for its entire life. After purchasing the car I changed the fuel hoses and filter, changed (brake fluid, antifreeze, transmission fluid). Idles smooth, accelerates without hesitation, shifting automatically with ease through every gear. It has 4 like new tires and newer battery. Mileage is 95,000 and appears to be original. This beautiful 450SL has current NJ historic registration and clean NJ title in my name. The paint and body look extremely shiny and clean; the paint appears to be all original and is very presentable! There is no rust on the car; no signs of previous body damage. There are a few tiny chips that have been touched up over the years and several small scratches, but for a 37 year old car it really looks great! The exterior color is anthracite metallic with a red leather interior. The interior is in very good shape as is all the trim, wood and carpets. The Heat works as do all the mechanicals on the car except the original power antenna sometimes sticks. The soft top is like new, Mercedes cloth in dark charcoal color; the plastic windows are clear and crack free. The sound system is the original Blaupunkt and it works perfectly and it still has the original hirschmann electric antenna. The trunk is equally clean; good carpets, no stains or smells, no broken pieces. The original spare tire is in the trunk and has probably never been used, still has the original Mercedes tire placard! Car also has the original color matching hardtop in good shape, original Mercedes owner manuals and original Mercedes first aid kit. Asking price is $10,700. Call 908 759 5651.
