This is an outstanding 1971 Corvette that has been very tastefully modified to bring it up the high performance standards we associate with “Corvette”. We purchased the car from previous owner, who has owned the car for since 1993. He wanted a Corvette with muscle car performance and dependability and that is exactly what he built. He installed a 355 horsepower ZZ4 crate engine which has headers and a MARCH serpentine system. The engine has only been driven about 500 miles. The power is transmitted through a 5 speed Tremec manual transmission to a heavy duty 3.55 positraction rear-end and this part of the drive train has less than 100 miles. Almost everything except for the body has been either re-built or replaced, the workmanship and attention to detail is outstanding, the hood has been replaced with a raised cowl L88 style reproduction hood. The body was lifted off the chassis to replace all of the brake lines and rebuild the suspension at which time the frame was cleaned and painted. The no hit body and chassis are in very good condition. The car was originally Nevada Silver with a blue interior and was painted Red before the last owner bought the car in 1993. The paint is driver quality and looks good from 5 feet, but a new paint job would make this an overall excellent car. Corvette Mike Midwest is owned and operated by Bill Kotzum and Larry Kelsey. Bill spent over 25 years in Operations and Finance in the Aftermarket with Borg Warner, Echlin, Dana and Standard Motors. Larry has spent his 30 year career in support of the industry starting with International Harvester and ending with DaimlerChrysler.
