Vehicle Detail
This car is simply awesome. More fun to drive that should really be allowed. I sold this exact car 17 years ago because I wanted to go travelling. Our paths met again decades later and once again - I'm leaving her to go travelling. She has pretty much every standard go-fast road-car upgrade available .With the exception of the LSD ignition and the 5-speed from the 320is, everything else has been done. Alternator, starter, radiator? Done! Megasquirt 2 fuel injection. Fully programmable. Fine tune the fuel system with easy to follow instructions. Set it and forget it. Starts fast. Warms up fast. No lag from the gas pedal. -Engine rebuilt within the last 15,000 miles-292 re-ground camshaft-9.5:1 pistons-Bosch SR440X starter motor upgrade (lighter, turns over better)-Megasquirt 2 Electronic Fuel injection with 318i intake manifold, EDIS etc (more later...)-new clutch within last 3000 miles -New Master/Slave cylinders within the last 250 miles-320i radiator-Ireland Engineering exhaust header, flex pipe to 2.5" exhaust back to Ansa center exit dual muffler (seriously sexy sound)-22/19mm sway bars-Bilstien sport struts-H&R springs-Polyurethane bushings throughout-15" Panasport wheels -Pirelli P700 tires (195/45/15)-Upgraded Volvo 240 Girling calipers up front (new remanufactured within last 1500 miles)-Stainless braided brake lines-Re-upholstered E21 320is Recaro seats in brown vinyl-E24 6 Series Bucket seats in the rear And the bad: rust - lower edge of rear windshieldrust - inner edge of trunk lidrust - lower edge of the passenger door (not really visible unless you open the door and get on your knees and look)rust - the drivers side frame rail under the floor has rust as well (possibly the floor, though the frame rail rusted due to a leaky clutch slaverust - drivers side rocker panelrust - a bubble/hole on the nose where the front panel meets the fenderrust - surface rust in the spare tire well, no through rust (I think)wiring - typical of the vintage - if you know what I meanBits and pieces of the interior need to be installed. Rear seat needs re-upholstering to match rest of interior.Front tires rub on fenders. Need to either roll fenders or investigate a different offset for the wheels. The rest of the car is very solid and clean. Rear shock towers are great. She's a stunner from 50' away. Get up close and the top surfaces are all a bit dull and the clear coat is worn etc .
