Up for auction is a 1980 Chevrolet Corvette. I have owned this car for 5 years and have come to the reality that I will not ever get to it. Running out of room in my shop and she has to go. This vette has a clean and clear South Dakota title in my name. She runs and drives but has no brakes. First I will start with the bad. The car needs brake work, maybe a master cylinder, brake bleed? I'm really not sure I have not have taken the time to look at it. The drivers side door does not open. Drivers side fender near the door will need some fiberglass work please look at the photos. Passenger side floor and drivers side floor will need some metal work. Most likely leaking from the T top over the last 30 some years. You could probably patch the floor but to be safe I would say front floor pans for both sides. I will be more than happy to inspect and photograph for any potential bidders, just ask. The drivers side power window does not open or close, never has. I think it needs a new switch? Steering wheel has a little wiggle in it. Does not effect goin down the highway but will probably need some attention. Now for the Good: Engine runs smooth and solid no smoke or any ticks. The carb was rebuilt up to the time I bought it and idles like a purring kitten. The dual exhaust and turbo mufflers where new 5 year ago and stored inside since I have owned it. New tires all around that still have the rubbery knobs on them. The tranny shifts smooth through all the gears, reverse works etc. The frog lights go up and down, one of them needs a little persuasion to get up but both function. Gauges and stereo work speedometer etc. except for the fuel gauge and clock those do not work. New battery will be included in the auction to help drive the car up onto the trailer. Please keep in mind that this is a 36 year old car and will need some attention and work done to it to be road worthy. This car will need to be trailered. Don't expect to show up and drive it home unless you plan on intentionally hurting yourself or someone else on the open road.
