Thank you for looking at my listing; I try to describe this car as accurately as possible below, but nothing matches a personal inspection, so please call me to arrange an in-person inspection if you are interested. Its a great 36 year old car ready to be driven and enjoyed! The absolute best year for the 450SL Model; Clean, original, unmolested car: I purchased this car from what was believed to be the third owner, a 77 year old local business owner. The car has always been looked after by professional Mercedes mechanics, and appears to have been garaged and well cared for its entire life. After purchasing the car I changed the fuel hoses and filter, changed (brake fluid, antifreeze, transmission fluid). Idles smooth, accelerates without hesitation, shifting automatically with ease through every gear. It has 4 brand new tires and new battery. Mileage is 120,000 and appears to be original. This beautiful 450SL has current NJ historic registration and clean NJ title in my name. The paint and body look extremely shiny and clean; it appears to have undergone a repaint in the recent past. There is no rust or dents on the car; no signs of previous body damage. There are a few tiny scratches by the tano cover as shown in the picture; probably form trying to install the heavy hard top. The exterior color is silver blue metallic with a Palomino/Saddle leather interior. The interior is in excellent shape as is all the trim, wood and carpets. The wood is absolutely beautiful, you can see deep into it with no scratches or cracks! there are no cracks in the dash. All the mechanicals on the car work well. The top is like new Mercedes in navy blue; the plastic windows are clear and crack free. The sound system is upgraded Sony CD/radio and it works perfectly including the electric antenna. The trunk is equally clean; like new carpets, no stains or smells, no broken pieces. The original spare tire is in the trunk and has seen little if any use! Car also has the original color matching hardtop. Asking price is $9,700.
