This wonderful car has only had two owners in it's almost 50 year history. My late husband bought it in 1971 and used it as his primary vehicle until 1990. It has been garaged and covered since then. It got the engine shown (new) in 2003. It has less than 200 miles on it. It has Recaro seats, a Hurst shifter, new upholstery in late 90's, new CD/radio installed in 2005. Many parts are new, the door hinges are strong with no sagging. One tiny spot of rust on on the bottom inside of one of the doors. I am only mentioning it as that is the ONLY rust on this entire car. I am ready to sell it as it needs someone who can tinker with it and drive it and enjoy it! My husband hand sanded it down to the bare metal and repainted it completely in 1995. That is the dark gray color shown. I have many boxes of Genuine VW parts and also the front bumper that are all included in this sale price. The picture of it RED is my husband standing beside it in the mid 1980's. I am happy to answer any questions you have about it. What I don't know about the engine, I can find out. I have shown several pictures of the engine from various angles to help. It has taken me 11 years to decide to do this. It needs to be driven and enjoyed! Just a great car that's lots of fun!
