I don't know what they did to this car because when you step on the gas it just fly's sparing no power.I drove plenty of 450 SL's but never drove one as powerful. This car seems to be performance modified with a higher idle which can be lowered and is equipped with a catalytic converter but no smog pump which is available here on eBay for about $150.It definitely has muscle, so if not for you; need not apply. I recently drove it on a 350 mile trip some thru windy roads through mountains and it handled like a true sports car giving no issues. You must take a trip like this, in this car to appreciate it's great engineering.This is a great candidate for restoration showing just over 50,000 miles on the odometer which gets stuck and you have to push to reset but I believe this car has low miles and is a diamond in the rough that deserves new paint and a dashboard job. The leather in the passenger side is cracking and the headrest needs replacing the soft top vinyl cover has some nicks but not too noticeable , drivers seat is good the rest of the interior is good. Original owners manual and service book with last records showing at 32 k miles. Body is good no rust with just a couple pebble dings and some paint chips and fade. Good tires new belts mechanically sound all trim and lights are good soft top is not in good condition. The spare tire, jack and tools are missing .AC compressor is installed but may need recharging. Registration is expired 2014 with 300$ dmv fees I have too many projects so I'm selling to the highest bidder.
