1991 VW GTI Big bumper MK2 8V. Very nice stock gti. Hasn't been chopped, lowered etc. Looks as it did straight from the factory. Only thing added was stereo. The car was always garaged till I got it. I looked for over a year before i found this one. Had just gotten rid of my 86. No rust anywhere! Rubber etc is all good, glass is good, dash is good, interior is very nice, no rips in any seat or side panel. Door panels are nice, door jams etc also nice, floors too. Trunk is nice and also solid. Have the orig jack etc. Orig paint is still nice. Getting thin on the hood so I put the light spray wax on that. Hard to find a nicer example. I have owned it about 3 years. Bought in CT. Was always garaged till I got it. Never saw salt when I lived in NY but did sit outside in the weather. Runs good, drive anywhere. Just drove it down 750 miles from New York to North Carolina. Have always maintained it and didn't abuse it. Ok once and awhile I would, it's a fun car. But did the usual, plugs, filters, oil, battery, alternator, ps pump, thermostat, hoses etc. Has ps, pb, ac, heat, raido cd, tilt steering, non power windows. All lights work. Good brakes. Wipers work. Gauges all work. Has 154,000 miles. Only needs a few minor things. The turn signal switch needs changed. The turn signals work on the lower tilt wheel level. When the steering wheel is in the upper position only the left turn signal works. I changed the seal on the sun roof and the opening and closing mechanism. It is on but can't get it adjusted to sit and seal exactly right. I got a headache and gave up but it is on. And I do have the gray cover piece you don't see in the inside sun roof pic. Leaving it off till you can adjust it perfectly. And one small rubber piece over the trunk hatch is shot so I put clear sealer on it so it could use a new one. Heat never gets hot hot. Put in a new thermostat. Floor level gets warm but not upper. Some little foam stuff comes out the vents on occasion when it's on very high. I am sure it needs to be blasted out with an air hose. AC is fine. So nothing major only minor things. Body is straight and solid. One barely visible ding in drivers door and few tiny ones on sun roof thanks to me. One fender well guard is a little bit off. Fender wells are very good too and like underneath still have the orig red paint! Slightly faded of course. I added the newer gti emblem on the front. Engine compartment is solid. I will detail it later. Doesn't smoke or burn oil etc. No puddles in your drive way where it sits. Used to have dark tint but had to remove to pass NC inspections. Glass is all good. Tires could be rotated. Backs are still like new. So as you can see it is very nice. If you are looking for a classic gti mk2 to cruise or be a daily driver like it was for me or dump a v6 and tune it you won't find a better one. Email questions. It works fine, plug into pigtail but never hooked it up since I have owned it. And just a reminder for some it is over 20 years old. I added some more pics. No rips in any seat or door or side panel. The wires in the trunk were from the stereo that was added before I got it and was the only thing changed. It was for a kicker box which I took out but still have and goes with it. Also so no surprises the passenger side door lock knob/puller is a bolt but I have a new one. And the interior light works when turned on and when passenger door is open but only sometimes w drivers so only minor. And front bumper is not damaged, it is where euro plate was. Rear panel below trunk to left of vw emblem had a ding the size of a baseball in it when I got it and I had it fixed but no accidents. Straight and solid all around.Thanks
