Vehicle Detail

For sale is my precious 1980 Toyota Cressida 2.6L, 6-Cylinder Classic. I have owned this car for 15 years and it has been running ever since then. However, I've never been able to dedicate the time to restore this vehicle, so I've reluctantly decided to part ways with hopes of a new owner giving it the full overhaul that it needs. Now make no mistake, it will run 75-80 mph with no problem. I drive it only about 3-4 days a month for my commute to work, around 50 miles round-trip. The 5-digit odometer read 56,000 miles when I purchased it in 2000, and now reads approximately 67,000. The Body: It could use a new paint job including removing the minor dents, dings, and scratches; otherwise good with no major damage. The Engine: It takes a little time to warm up for a steady idle, but the motor is pretty strong with good spark plugs and wires, distributor, Ignition Coil, O2 Sensor, Air Flow Meter, Fuel Pressure Damper, Cold Start Valve, Radiator and Hoses, Fuel Filter (The gas tank was drained and a full fuel system clean was done in 2013). Emissions: Some but not all Vacuum Hoses have been replaced; the Catalytic Converter and Exhaust system is about 2yrs old. The Charcoal Canister could stand a swapping out. Suspension: Shocks & Struts are about 3 years old, but ball joints may be due for replacing. The Interior: Seats in desperate need of reupholstering or replacement as well as the carpet. The door panels were replaced over 10 years ago, but still in good shape. The dash has cracks in it. What's needed: Gaskets, center support bearing, brakes, tires (excellent tread except they are so old and sometimes go down from the car not being driven often) What does not work: cruise control, power antenna, cassette player (drags) Please know that while this car is registered and runs, due to its age and fragility, I do not recommend purchasing this car as a daily driver, and it should not be driven as such until it is mechanically-sound restored. I have over $3000.00 in replacement Cressida parts (rotors, brake caliper, master cylinder, brake pads, front and rear bumper, dash cap, dash board, center console, fuel pressure regulator, fuel injectors, grille, original steel wheels and hubcaps, air filter, starter, distributor, glove box, tail lights, reverse lights, timing chain, gears, gasket set, piston rings, valves, and much more). Most of them are brand new in boxes and rare to find, but not included with the car in this auction. I will be selling them separately on this site over the next few months, as I need time to inventory all of what I have accumulated for this car over the many years of ownership. The Cressida is a true Toyota Classic that was the Japanese automaker's first semi-luxury sedan produced for the USA from 1977-1992. I have provided you with as much information on the car that I can think of and correct to the best of my knowledge. So, if you would like to take-on the project of bringing this 36 year old classic/antique back to JDM original condition, feel free to submit a bid. Any questions you may have are certainly welcome. Vehicle will be sold "as is". Good luck, and thanks for checking out my long-time jewel.
