I'm selling my 1970 MGB GT. It runs very well. It starts right up even in cold weather - the manual choke works well and is needed until its warmed up. It has a clean title and is currently registered and insured in my name, in California. I have had the MGB/GT for about 5 years and it has been a great car - ultra reliable transportation and very good gas mileage - averages around 25 mpg depending on how you drive it. It shifts smooth, brakes ez, steers tight, I have had several mantenance, tune-up items done over the years including SU carb rebuilt by professional, new clutch and brake master cylinder and slave cylinder. Filters, hoses where needed, ect. I made a short video showing me start the car, and driving it around the block. If you would like to see the video, please contact me and i will email it to you. The car is very original - plenty of patina. It has the original smog equipment installed - i left it alone since it works so well. I have driven this mgb to work a few times a week for several years. I have driven it to San Diego and to Los Angeles several times. Never had an issue. All (4) tires are new - minus about 1,000 miles. All gages work well and are reliable and accurate - except the speedometer. The speedometer or the speedometer cable will need attention. The Kenwood radio is about 1 year old and has bluetooth and USB, and digital FM radio - and sounds very good. This MGB GT is an excellent candidate for restoration - it needs paint, and some interior cleanup, and this car would be amazing. It was my plan to restore it - but I couldn't decide on a color. I had one of my workers wet sand the car in order to identify any issues that the body requires. As can be seen, the original color is a royal blue - all doors, panels, trunk, hood, ect all have the blue bleeding through. There are a few areas of bodywork that will need some minor attention prior to paint:(1) The area around the front passenger headlight got pushed in slightly - the effect of the 'push' is below the chrome body trim - so the repair should not be too much trouble.(2) There is a small strip of rust holes (this is the only area of the entire car that I have found any rust) - it is approx. 3 inches long and 1/4 inch wide - located on the passenger side between the rear wheel well and the passenger door edge. The minor rust holes were repaired, and was primered nicely. But my worker used the wrong shade of green and did not finish it up. It looks worse than it really is. At no extra charge, I will gladly have it fixed and re-paint this area so that it blends in better than it does.(3) There is a small area at the drivers side, between the rear wheel well and the rear bumper (below bumper edge) that shows some bare metal. There is no rust here. It just isn't perfectly smooth here and the paint wore off. A few interior trim pieces were removed in order to either gain access to things or to fix things. These pieces are shown in the included photo on the trunk of my ford fairlane. I'd recommend cleaning them and fixing the minor tears in the cardboard (behind the fabric) prior to installing - otherwise the tears could result in a fabric rip. However, I would be happy to install all of the pieces if the new buyer wants. The door panels are in good condition. The front and rear seats are in good condition - but have some tears as can be shown in the photo of the rear seat. The front seats have covers on them. All glass is in excellent condition. And the various chrome trim is in very good condition throughout - only an occasional blemish can be found. Both the front and rear bumpers are in very good condition - near perfect. It is not too common any more to find an MGB GT in this condition - mechanically solid, nearly rust-free - all original body panels and doors. You see MGB's on the road occasionally, but the GT's have become quite rare. It is ready to be enjoyed. Please ask any question and i will promptly respond and share the results for other's benefit.
