The gorgeous red paint was put down earlier this year, and the car is further set apart as a Dan Gurney Special. The current owner is only the third one. The second owner rebuilt the original engine and transmission. (This is a "numbers matching" car.) The original wheels and hubcaps are included in the auction. One key difference is that the car was originally green; it was professionally repainted for the first time about 6 months ago, and was changed to candy apple red. Shifting is done with an automatic transmission, and stopping is handled with front power disc brakes. The vinyl top was redone immediately after the paint job. The original radio is still in place, but the car has been upgraded with a modern stereo as well. This vintage cruiser still has the original black and gold license plates, as well as the original dealer license frame! It is currently registered in California.
