Vehicle Detail

1965 Chevrolet Suburban K 1416 (Four Wheel Drive) 1/2 ton Carrier, offered in Bone Stock condition. Color is "Turquoise-510AA" as noted on factory data plate. 292 “Big Block” inline 6-cylinder truck. Restorers take note: all 292 six cylinder truck engines were painted green from the factory, as outlined in the original Chevrolet 1965 Owner's manual. Original Paint California truck sold new at Miller Chevrolet in Lone Pine, California per factory Protecto Plate, Owner’s manual and past registration cards. Factory Four Wheel Drive (“K” prefix in vin tag denotes factory built 4WD, not made up four wheeler). Affectionately given the name "Mountain Goat" by Chevrolet. Clamshell tailgate, very dry truck, and all three rows of reconfigurable seats, including optional fold down passenger seat. (Accurately re-upholstered using bolts sourced from SMS Fabrics of Oregon, known for quality material). Factory original rear wooden flooring displays no moisture damage and is immaculate when viewed from beneath. A true testament to the dry California Life this truck has led. Includes original Miller Chevrolet Lone Pine dealer plate frames/ California black license plates, CB radio with nine foot whip antenna, optional dash gauge package, T-3 original headlamps, fresh tires (7.00-15” Hercules bias) sliding side window option and factory AM radio (works). Mechanically dialed in, very nice running and driving truck capable of cruising comfortably at 65-70mph on freeway. Stone cold, pull choke, breathe on key to start. Nice oil pressure. Runs whisper quiet with factory exhaust (recent new tail-pipe). “Granny Gear” first gear for when you are "in the mood". Paint is sunburned though to original primer in some spots, particularly on the roof and horizontal surfaces. The “High Torque” 292 six was the largest optional six cylinder engine Chevrolet offered for 1965 production. The 292 is rated at 170 Gross H.P. at 4,000 rpm with a net torque rating of 255 ft. lbs. Conversely, the optional 283 V8 is rated at 175 Gross H.P. at 4,400 rpm with a net torque rating of 245 ft. lbs, per factory owner’s manual spec chart. International bidders are most welcome and transport is the responsibility of buyer. Inspection welcome by appointment. Truck is located in the Los Angeles area, land of rust free vehicles... Truck is currently registered and titled in my name. Offered by private seller.
