Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1966 chevy k20 4x4 pickup. This truck is in great shape, Cab and all panels solid, the frame is solid. It was repainted a few years ago by the previous owner, The paint is not perfect, It does have a few spots bubbling and some light rust starting in a few spots, No rust holes this truck is solid, It has a 250 inline six cylinder, Im not sure about the history of this motor, But it runs great no smoke or oil burning. It does have a very slow oil leak by the rear main seal, you will notice a small drop if it sits in the same place a few days. We did a full tune up on it since we've had it, points, coil, condenser, spark plugs, and wires. Brand new reman carburetor from summit racing, Champion aluminum 2 core radiator, radiator/heater core hoses. New thermostat and gasket. We've also put on a Offenhauser valve cover and a new gasket. New exhaust/intake manifold, New dynomax muffler. This truck comes with a new reworked head all new valves set up for unleaded fuel and resurfaced, The valve train is strong on the head now but this head will be included anyway. It also comes with an offenhouser 3 carburetor intake manifold. The frame is solid but unrestored on this truck. Sm421 transmission and divorce transfer case seem to work well, they have had fresh gear oil. Original locking hubs work well too. At some point somebody installed a winch bumper and winch with a Chelsea Pto that runs off the transfer case, This works well and we have installed a new cable on the winch. I believe its a 10,000 pound winch. Two new front tires, This truck will need an alignment, The steering is a little bit squirly, But it does pretty good for an old straight axle pickup. No PS or PB. Detroit locker rear, Im not sure of the gear ratio. Wood bed The Interior is fair, A few scratches, The seat has no tears, New floor mat and insulation installed, Something in the gauges drains the battery, so they are unhooked right now, New fuel gauge. New battery Converted to internally regulated alternator. All lights work well, the lights on hood quit working occasionally, Until you wiggle them a little for a better ground. Spare tire rack included and spare tire. Brakes work well. Clear pa title This would be a great truck to fix and drive everyday or would be an easy restoration. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks for looking. On Dec-21-15 at 08:49:51 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE: December 20, 2015 We have just heard from the previous owner who seen this truck on eBay. He has given us a lot more knowledge of this old truck. And has said we can pass his name on to the new owner because he has tons of more info about this old beauty. It came from Fort Collins, Colorado. It was originally a government truck in Colorado. It ran flawlessly for all those years and never left him hanging. He owned it from 1975 to 2007. Original color outside "Navy Gray Light"- inside sort of tan. She was a beauty in her day and with chains on all 4's she would go thru 3' of snow in the mountains.
