US residents declare the car at the border, there are no taxes or duties. If you have it shipped, I have a customs broker that would complete all the paperwork at the border and I could drive it across for you to pick up in Niagara Falls NY. The last time I did this it was about $300 . It is only necessary because you, the new owner , was not present with the vehicle at the border.
