1983 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole - 22,786 Original Miles / Original Paint This 1983 Ferrari 308 GTSi Quattrovalvole comes in a classic red on black color configuration. The paint job is completely original with no repainted panels on the car. The interior is in great shape given its age and the leather throughout the cabin is well-kept. Aesthetically, the car is stunning to look at and its visual condition makes you feel as though you've entered a time machine. Its most recent owner had it for the last 10 years and loved every minute of ownership. It is in very good mechanical condition and runs well with no issues to report. The car is due for a timing belt replacement soon. We can have the timing belt service done for you, however, this will come at an additional cost. The vehicle features a 5-speed manual transmission and a 2.9L V8 engine that included fuel injection for the first time as of 1980. The GTS version of the Ferrari 308 features a targa top that can easily be removed by a single person. While the Ferrari 308 had been around since 1975, an important change was made halfway through its production run. In 1980 Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection was added on the 308 GTS (subsequently renamed 308 GTSi) which helped reduce its emissions. The Bosch fuel injection system was coupled to a Marelli MED 803A Digiplex electronic ignition system, incorporating a coil, distributor and ignition module for each bank of cylinders. Unlike the 308 GTSi it succeeded, the Quattrovalvole featured 4-valves per cylinder (quattrovalvole means "four valves" in Italian) which increased its power output to 240 hp and restored some of the performance lost to the emission control equipment of previous model years. We have the original owner's manual with some service stamps in it. This classic Ferrari is a significant piece of the company's rich heritage and would be a wonderful addition to any collection.
