According to one I.H. advertisement: (Field and Stream February 1971) "Out where the four-wheel-drivers go to test the mettle of their vehicles, the INTERNATIONAL SCOUT is as familiar a sight as trees or brush. But here comes a brand new model that's going to turn some heads. The Scout Comanche. With its bright paint and 'wampum belt" stripe... you can't miss it. Actually there are six COMANCHE model variations, mainly so you can have your pick of transmissions and engines. But they all come with bucket seats, chrome bumpers, front locking hubs, undercoating, dual fuel tanks and radios. Not to mention the really tough stuff like wide oval chrome disc wheels with General Scrambler tires sporting raised letters that match the paint. So many people want to be Scout drivers, we figured some of you would want to be distinctive. And you surely will, in a Scout Comanche. But that means we can only make 1500. The Scout runs and drives fantastic, it has it's numbers matching power-train. The V-8 motor is very healthy no smoking or burning of oil and the compression is perfect. New battery, and all new fluids. The Manual 4-Speed Transmission is sound, shifts nice and smooth. The 4x4 running gear is all factory and it also works just fine. The Scout has a nice vintage Spare Tire Rack. It's been fitted with new Chrome (Crager), 15" Wheels. I also have the Steel wheels and Vintage Hubcaps that will be sold as part of this sale (see pics). The interior is in great shape. The original Seats are newly reupholstered front and rear in two tone vinyl. I've had new black carpet added to the front cab area and a bedliner to the rear bed area. Also new door panels to match the seats in the same two tone vinyl. The radio works, however it's currently not hooked up and doesn't have speakers mounted. Note, the interior was all custom done and not just store bought seat covers. All new weatherstripping on the front doors, to include new window felts. I've had all the window seals replaced, and the front windshield is new. It's got all newly re-chromed emblems and bumper. I have the Build Sheet/Doll up Sheet showing the  original build of the truck also a new operators manual. Both of the 10.5 gal gas tanks are in good shape they've both been cleaned and plumbed. The paint color is factory correct, recently repainted and new stock Comanche Decals. The paint looks great. It's a solid truck, most importantly its rust free and has been maintained its entire life. More people are starting to understand just how cool these Scouts are, which is making them harder to find. This truck is in great shape and ready for Hunting, Fishing, Beach or just cruising around town. Give me a call or message me so we can workout a deal.
