MY MECHANIC SAID - NEW CATALYST AND ENGINE HARNESS(IGNITION COILS CHANGED ALL OVER, DIDN'T WORK) AS THE CAR LACKS POWER . 08./IN THE PICTURES YOU'D SEE THE ENGINE IGNITION COILS, ONE WAS ORIGINAL OEM - REPLACED BUT TURNED OUT TO BE OK, THE OTHER IS NEW OEM. THE NON-OEM REPLACEMENTS AREN'T WORTH IT AS THEY AREN'T UP TO SPECK. READ UP ON THIS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT DO I MEAN. YES, THESE COILS ARE INCLUDED, I DON'T NEED THEM AND SELLING THE SEPARATELY IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. SINCE IGNITION COILS WERE ALL OK MY MECHANIC SUGGESTED THAT ENGINE'S HARNESS WILL NEED TO BE EITHER TESTED AND FIXED OR ALTOGETHER REPLACED. 09./ BATTERY CHARGES FINE WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING. BELOW IS Q&A EXCHANGE I JUST HAD WITH SOMEONE, I'D IMAGINE THIS WILL COME UP AGAIN SO I COPIED THE CONVERSATION: QUESTION: ''you say its lacking power is that from the engine harness being no good and how bad does it effect it driving i mean can it be driven to north east pa without a problem'' ANSWER:With cylinder misfire the usual suspects are the engine coils, those were replaced to no effect, next in line is the engine harness, etc. Ask around, there are number of sites, I was a member of MAXIMA.ORG but there are other Nissan-related sites. I have no time anymore for any of this, unfortunately. I last drove that car in February, since then it's been at the parking lot where all these pictures were taken( plus two videos). Because of the uneven forces due to cylinder misfire the engine shakes but it still runs(there's lot to be said about 6 cylinders VS 4 cylinders under the hood) yet noticeably lacks power if you try to really tax it - such as when driving up steep roads or keeping up with highway speeds. Those few last errands that I drove with this car - if I had to climb a hill I'd put the emergency blinkers on as to not enrage everybody behind me since I was driving as a ''grandma'' as a coworker once put it. That said and knowing NE PA there are mostly steep grade roads going North from where I am and the car will have trouble with those. Same when I drove on local highway - blinkers on as 30-40 MPH top speed would otherwise make me a danger to others. If you try to step on the gas/open the throttle too much too soon the engine looses power/shakes even more. VERY gradual and slow drive MAY do it, however I can't make any promises, that's why this auction begins at this low price. In my last few drives I always had the phone numbers of several LOCAL towing companies wherever I went >>>>>just in case<<<<< and for anyone willing to test their luck I'd very strongly advise the same. Another option is to negotiate much lower price that usual with towing-truck owner that you know and avoid the worry altogether.
