Vehicle Detail

1963 FORD COUNTRY SQUIRENO RESERVE RARE - NO RESERVE – MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! Thanks for checking this amazing 1963 Galaxie Country Squire. These are very rare cars that you do not see that often. This is an original Country Squire, Code 76 in VIN and 71E on data tag. I grew up with these cars when I was young, even ending up with a Squire Ranchero, at the time I did not like the wood paneling, but today these tin woodys are all the rage. This car was bought new here in Oregon. In 1967 it was traded in at a local dealer, and a young couple bought it for their growing family, they had 3 boys that all learned how to drive in this beloved Country Squire, I met to of the sons and it was fun to hear their stories of their time with this wagon. Ever once in a while their dad would let them take it out on a date, I'm sure it was a hit with new girlfriends father especially when they pulled up in the driveway, I suppose it was better than a van pulling up, lol. This Country Squire has been in the same ownership for almost 50 years. The first time I ever saw the car was 13 years ago, and I was at a shop here in Salem, I had just started by classic car business, and I wanted to own this car the first time I saw it. I have seen the car off and on over the years, and just recently I was able to park it in my own garage. I love old cars, live and breathe them, for me it is all about the hunt and the chase, I'm like a fisherman, that catches that big fish, and pretty much do a catch and release program. Anyways this car has been a part of the community here in Salem since it was new, it will be interesting to see where it goes for the next 50 years. This is an amazing car, in really nice condition, they cared for this car like a family member. It has lived a pampered life, garaged most of its life, I show a picture of the car and the gentleman that it was its care taker, in the background is the garaged that it lived in for 50 years. They bought the house new in 1962, and in 1967 bought the Country Squire, it is amazing it has been on the same property for the last 50 years. Anyways I took a lot of photos please take a look at them all, it is in great shape. About 15 years ago he and his sons gave it a nice make over, resprayed for the first time, rebuilt the drive train, and the interior. Since then they said it possibly but 5000 miles on in the last 15 years. The odometer reads 72,637 on it, assume it has rolled over at least once, I do not have any written documentation of miles, but looking at everything, especially the integrity of the car, it has been well cared for. The body is in great shape, the paint has a nice gloss to it, not an over the top respray, but looks nice, under lights you might see a few imperfections, but honestly most people wouldn’t even take notice, not perfect but a very nice looking car. It is very straight down the sides, has minor chips that have been touched up, it has been driven and has some minor wear. All the panels line up nice, doors shut like new. The glass is in good shape no chips of cracks, you can see that the glass is older has small scratches on them in various areas, typical of older original glass in a car that has been used. I have not seen any signs of any major rust repairs on the car, everything looks very good, the doors, rockers, quarter panels all look very good, there is some filler on the lower quarters from what I can tell but pretty minor. The roof gutters are really clean no bubbles in great condition. It does not have any dents or dings on it very clean. Take a look at the photos the car is very sound, not a rotisserie restoration, just a very nice restored older restoration. The wood paneling has all been refinished, and looks great some minor stress cracks on some of the paneling but overall looks awesome. The amazing part is underneath of the car, beautiful original frame, untouched floors, and rockers, no undercoating, this really is the true story of any cars condition, what it looks like underneath, structurally sound, in the door jams same away, very clean, no signs of any accidents or major repairs, clean inner aprons upfront. We do not salt the roads here in Oregon, have cool summers and mild winters which really saves a lot of our cars. The chrome and bright work are in decent shape but are original and worn, you may want to during the winter months remove some of the trim around windows and such and have them polished. The rear and front bumper could stand to be rechromed. The rear bumper has some flaking, there is a Surf Sticker on the passenger side rear were the chrome has failed, so basically the sticker is there to cover it, looks better with a sticker, believe me. Overall all it is a very nice driver and easy to do upgrades little by little like they did to the car for 50 year The interior is in great shape basically all redone. He had it redone in material, they rode around in the cold vinyl all of its life, and they said no more and did it in very nice material, including the door panels. I have to admit it is very comfortable the seats feel great, especially in the winter, nice to hop in an old car without freezing seats, and likewise the boiling vinyl seats in the summer. There really is very little wear on the seats and door panels they are in great shape. The original dash pad is in good shape but has a small crack in the center but overall it is original and looms nice overall, I would never change the dash pad, because it does look nice. It has been upgraded with a AM/FM CD, and speakers. The headliner is original, back then they used cardboard inserts, and they usually start to warp a little, so they wanted to keep them, and trimmed them out with matching wood, which really is a nice touch looks great seeing the wood strips, looks nice. The glass in all the doors roll up and down nicely, the electric rear window works off switch or key. The vent Windows crank out and in good, but there is a little air seepage around the quarter Windows. The gaskets on the car and door rubbers all look in good shape, the car does not leak inside. The carpet is in great shape as well. The heater, wipers, gauges all work good, it does have external oil pressure and temp gauges under the dash that hang down below lower dash, I removed them to clean them, and they are now reinstalled, not pictured. Anyways take a look at interior and you will get a good idea of how clean it is. Mechanically it is in great shape. The motor and transmission were rebuilt around 15 years ago but only have about 5k on the them from what they said, I added a picture of the rocker cover off so you could get a good look at the top end of engine. The intake reads C3AE, and heads read C1AE, engine is a 352, I believe it is original to the car. The exterior of the motor has been freshened up with new paint, new valve cover gaskets, looks nice and stock underneath the hood, just has been cared for and detailed nice to look new again. They added an additional snorkel on the air cleaner, have to admit, I like it. It starts right up and runs very nice, it can at times be a little cold blooded, it is running electric Petronix ignition, which is a nice add. Still running its stock 2v carb, and intake. It is a 352 V8 X code car. The Cruis-O-Matic transmission isin good shape shift nice and seems to work great. It had new rear axles put in a few years ago as well. It has power steering which works good, he a little dampness around the steering ram it might need to be resealed, or new hoses eventually, I have seen a few small drips off of the ram, but need to take a little closer at it, if I can get around to fixing it I will try to, but no promises, if not it will drip a little occasionally. Otherwise the engine and transmission no signs of any leaks currently. It has power brakes which work very good on a car of this size. It has been upgraded with dual exhaust as well which is a nice add for a big block car. The tires are in great condition with around 90% tread on them, original hubcaps still in the car. All the exterior lights work, even the backup lights. The oil pan as you will see in the photos, looks ugly, it is functions good, but it got dented in the bottom, and when they rebuilt it, they backed it back out, it worked, not pretty, but who looks under car anyways, I only noticed it when I put it on my lift. Not to hard to put a new pan on it down the road if you wanted to. Mechanically the car is in great shape, very smooth driving car, the big cars usually float down the road, still drives like an old car, but overall pretty impressive for being over 55 years old. I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 12 years now, with around 600 classic cars sold over the internet. What I love about these old cars, is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time, I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world. I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few. It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiast all over the Continent, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars.
