I've decided to sell my MB Wagon "Blackie", I've owned it about 3-1/2 years, it has been amazing! My other MB Wagon "ole Blue" is my all time favorite to drive because it is a 4matic. If Blackie was a 4matic it would not be for sale! When I purchased the car it had 69k miles on it, it had sat in a garage most of the time, I fixed that problem! I have number of client's who's kids I transport from private schools here in the North East to all the area airports and NYC. "Blackie rarely moves unless its a 200 mile trip. It just turned 170K on Friday night coming back from JFK, it's still rides beautifully. During the time that this auction is taking place I am having the headlight wiring harnesses changed. If you've had a MB you know what I am talking about. The headlight wires are subjected to heat and cold all the time. The wires are not that flexible anymore so it's time for them to go. Since I have owned "Blackie" it only gets synthetic oil, and the tires are always rotated when this is done. When the tires need to be replaced I change all 4 at the same time. I'm a firm believer in matched sets. Since I have owned the car it has needed and I have replaced: A new gas tank. Sitting in a garage in Florida ( with a 1/2 tank of gas ) caused the top of the tank to rust, small particles were clogging fuel filter! One tech said its not that bad! The hell with that! I replaced the tank! I've done brakes 3 times, pads and fresh rotors ( cross drilled ) each time. Both front bearings have been done Tie rods ( both sides) lets not be silly! All lug bolts are new ( they wear out ) 1 catalytic converter AC compressor 1 year old ( it stopped working on he hottest day of last summer ) Serpentine belt New battery 10/14 ( winter starts, I'm not taking any chances!) Brake indicator switch. Just had new plugs and wires installed ($700.00) car had misfire that put it into limp mode so throttle body cleaned and wires and plugs done New rear tires being installed 11/18 I am attempting to sell ASAP in hopes of purchasing a all wheel drive Lexus SUV from one of my clients. I missed a purchase on a Mercedes wagon because car didn't sell the last time listed. I was a bit emotional about the sale because I do love the car, but it's not all wheel drive! Issues that might be of interest to some buyers: Front of car has the usual high speed stone chips. The Outside temp gauge has never been accurate, its runs about 8* warmer than actual temperature. There is some NYC rear bumper rash ( no dents just scratches ) one area where the paint chipped Tops of rear wheel wells have small rust area (surface) Little antenna on top of the roof is broken, happened before I owned the car. There is a stone chip by the registration sticker with a 3" crack. I have full glass coverage, so it will be replaced before buyer gets it. Rear wiper area ( MB Achilles heal) every one I've seen 00-04 are rusted. It's a Great car, and I encourage anyone seriously looking for a MB Wagon to come and see it. Please ask questions first, not after you bid! I will try to make the car available to any shop within a reasonable distance of the 12501 zip code, provided the bidder pays for the inspection. The NYS inspection was done in June, 2015. There is SRS light on? Been on for years! If there is a passenger in the front seat that weighs 100+ lbs the light goes off. Weird, but it's the only thing that never annoyed me enough to have it checked. I've read here is a wire issue with this model year. I have a clear title in hand. It's get about 26MPG on the highway!! I would drive " Blackie" to California tomorrow morning, I have complete faith in it. I am confident that with proper upkeep its going 250k miles easy. I have had incredible luck with cars. I'm sure it has a lot to do the fact that I take care of little issues before they become big problems. I don't ever want to be stranded so I take care of my cars. Change your oil!!! Please come and take it for a drive! I am trying to sell this car, not get rid of it! If it doesn't sell I I will drive it for awhile longer and try again later. This car would make an exceptional 2nd car. Everything works! The photos were taken when I listed the car back in July, it currently has 179,200 miles on it. It has been and is still a Great car. Anyone bidding should keep in mind these are costly cars to fix. I purchased it for safety not cost efficiency. Cars are mechanical items they do and will break down! In the next 3 days this car will go to NYC 4 times so milage will be changing every day.
