Vehicle Detail
For your consideration is my 2005 Bentley Continental GT, Barnato Green over Barnato Green/Saddle interior. Recent annual service was performed that included water pump replacement. All outstanding issues, water pump and shift gate plastic cover, have been addressed and the vehicle is ready to be enjoyed by the next owner without incident. And while the GT is sold without warranty, I am positive that this particular GT should be without issue or need of service until its next annual service. Excellent condition inside and out with 2 small marks on hood only. The wheels have some blemishes which I will have corrected if Buy It Now is used. The tires are two months and 200 miles of wear, old. The interior is robust after 10 years and blemish-free, and the leather is regularly cleaned and treated. All gauges and electrics work as they should. The only body repair necessary was to correct a crack on the underside of the front bumper. It was a minor imperfection, but one that bothered me. No other bodywork has been done or is needed with a clean Car Fax as evidence of that. ALWAYS Bentley factory serviced with all records during my ownership-included with vehicle. I am the second owner. I purchased the vehicle from Bentley San Francisco where it was a trade in. The car does two strange things (Bentley owners are required to call these idiosyncrasies "Character"): First, the parking distance warning sometimes starts to chime (2-3 chimes only) while sitting at a light, in traffic. I am not close enough to anyone for the sensors to go off so I have decided that the warning chime is intended to alert me to the fact that the surrounding drivers are jealous, and so I call it "Envy Warning System". The frequency of the Envy Warning System might be once every 4-6 weeks, it is not frequent enough to overcome the humor of the Envy Warning System. The second issue is that the third taillight above rear window sometimes fails to work after a car wash or (Florida) torrential rain. Once some time and drier conditions dry out the trouble contact (I have been told by the dealer that a tiny kink in the ribbon wire is not an unusual problem), the system and lights work as they should. Just today I found a roughly two inch long by one quarter wide area of Wilton carpet at the base of the driver's seat platform that was rubbed through by the floor mat under the overlay. It is not even remotely noticeable unless you are seeking a misplaced item in the driver's footwell from a kneeling vantage point and looking back towards the driver's seat. I have truly enjoyed owning this vehicle more than any other exotic I have owned. It is highly competent in the role of "gentleman's rapid escape pod". Now that I have married a beautiful, intelligent and loving woman without peer, I find myself without much need to escape anymore. She would love for me to keep it because it is the vehicle we first drove as husband and wife, but windows were NOT painted or the vehicle otherwise humiliated with strings of cans on our wedding day. I know I will regret this sale after it is complete, but this fantastic vehicle deserves to enjoyed as it should, and since I am contemplating moving abroad, I would rather see it enjoyed by a new owner than decay in storage like so many of the lower mileage examples for sale. As to the color, my experience has been that it appeals to a younger generation of Bentley enthusiasts because it is in point of fact, a money green Bentley. Older enthusiasts and traditionalists appreciate the fact that this is the truest representation of the British Racing Green that Bentley has used since its inception. Personally, I fell in love with how the exterior color was carried over onto the dash and upper leather areas of the car. I have not seen any other GT, irrespective of color, where that effect has been employed and it is striking and distinctive. I have installed the proper interface for iPhone 6 integration and the connecting cord is in the box under the armrests. I have also purchased the matching sheepskin overmats for the front passengers. Any questions or requests for a specific photo that has not been included above will be answered promptly.
