***NO RESERVE*** 1996 Vw GTI VR6 Gorgeous 2-owner 1996 Vw GTI VR6 with only 115K miles for sale. Garaged most of its life and very well cared for since day one, only Mobil 1 oil and Premium gas used. It has been updated with a lot Euro spec parts, including front and rear bumpers, Jetta front end conversion with Vento smoked E-Code lights, badgless grill and Euro lower lip spoiler. Other changes include Mattig Cup mirrors (very rare and no longer available), shaved Vw emblems, and most importantly repainted in beautiful Audi Q7 Sycamore Green. Previous owner spent over $9,000 on the respray, with receipts to prove it. And if it wasn't for the small paint crack on the rear bumper it is flawless. GTI comes on staggered Keskin 5spoke wheels, where fronts are 16x7 and rears 16x9. All tires show plenty of thread, although rears have some rubbing marks. You ain't Dubbin if you ain't Rubbin ;) Black leather interior is mostly all original with the exception of the OEM Drivers Edition steering wheel, Momo shift boot and Vw All Weather floor mats Recently went through it mechanically and everything that needed to be or should have been replaced was. This includes a completely rebuilt cylinder head with fresh head gasket, new timing chain components, as well as the cooling parts (water pump, thermostat and housing). Engine runs strong, and doesn't skip a beat. Transmission shifts smoothly, with no grinds or other noises. Suspension is tight and firm- this car really does handle like it's on rails. Brakes consist of Brembo slotted rotors, and SS brake lines, which stop on a dime and still have plenty of life left in them. Cool AC, and hot heat thanks to recently replaced heater core. NO RUST. Strut tower and floor boards are completely rust free. Originally southern car, where it spent most of its life. Clean and clear title on hand. Just passed NJ State Inspection, so no CEL or other warning lights on the dashboard, although the ABS light would come on sporadically (most likely loose connection). With all that said, I would love to keep it for much longer, but currently running out of space and something has to go.
