This 2004 Touareg has lived its entire life in New Mexico so it is completely rust free and has zero oil leaks-none-it is completely bone dry underneath...amazing. I have owned it since it was 9 months old in 2005, with 15,000 miles on it and have always maintained it-changing the oil every 5,000 miles and performing every recommended maintenance on time or early. In 2010 I gave it to my mother and she has put only 15,000 miles on it since. It runs excellent. It has never not started. It did need a new battery a couple of years ago, which the dealer installed after the truck wouldn't start when in the shop for a recall campaign at the local VW dealer-University Motors. The only problems it has now is the tire pressure sensors no longer work-the batteries have worn out and they need replaced. The dealer quoted $400 for parts and $200 to install. I just turned off the tire pressure monitoring and check the pressures when changing the oil. My mother just uses the truck to drive around town. The last few oil changes have been done at 3,000 mile intervals because she drives only about that many miles a year. The only things this truck has needed over the years is routine maintenance, two new Xenon HID bulbs in 2012, the ignition coils covered in the VW recall, and tires, brakes, and serpentine belt. It has been amazingly reliable, durable, and steady. This example came with factory navigation, tow package, power seats with memory, and premium audio. It also has the cold weather package-heated seats, mirrors, etc. Kelley Blue Book puts it at around $6,000. NADA puts it at $8000. Highest bidder wins.
