Vehicle Detail

If you are looking for comfortable transportation and a classic design, the 300 SDL is a prime choice. Back in the day, gasoline powered versions of these stately cars were used to transport dignitaries through what was then West Germany. The diesel powered version adds better fuel economy. These cars were built for long, comfortable cruises with space to stretch your legs in front and rear seats. This 1987 300 SDL has been my daily driver. It is not a showroom stunner. The paint job shows its age (wear and tear) but the car has a solid body. It has been professionally maintained by Mercedes-Benz mechanics for the six years I have owned it. Beige exterior and brown interior. Electric sunroof, power windows, power door locks, electric front seats, lights, radio, automatic antenna, clock, A/C and heat, power mirrors, rear defroster, 110V engine heater, vanity mirror lights, interior lights, etc. all work. Cruise control works only sometimes. The driver’s seat is comfortable but the leather is worn through in places. A seat cover would hide that. The electric seat motors work. The leather on the passenger seat also shows cracks. The ABS light comes on on the dash when you start the car. My mechanic explained this is due to a system test failure. The car, of course, has working brakes. There are some yellow stripes on the corner of the rear bumper (see photo). This could be a daily driver or an easy restoration project for someone who wants to re-paint, buff, and clearcoat the car to restore its original beauty. The 6 cylinder diesel engine currently has 281,550 miles on the clock. New tires were installed about a year ago. The car just passed PA state inspection in September 2015. This car has been a great people carrier even on long trips. The “L” version (300 SDL) provides ample leg room even for tall passengers sitting in the back row and offers lots of trunk space. Original owner’s manual included. Location: Just north of Philadelphia, PA (Please look up how far Philadelphia is from where you are BEFORE you bid.) Payment: Cash Two title and tag places are located only minutes from its current location. Feel free to send your questions. I will try to answer them every evening.
