Vehicle Detail

This listing is for a fairly good looking daily driven 2005 Toyota Prius. It flies up and down the road, doing whatever speed you wish. We've taken it on 5 long road trips since June with no problem of any sort. October 8 thru 12, a few weeks ago, we drove to Lake Tahoe from LA and came home thru San Francisco, driving an estimated 1200 miles. These are trips often up and down some pretty steep mountains. This car has a red triangle warning light on, and on the display screen shows the infamous turtle sign that you can read about on internet message boards. They indicate that something is allegedly wrong, but won't tell you what it is and in the book say take it to the dealer. I took it to a few mechanic shops, including a supposed hybrid repair shop and they all said different things, changed this part and that part in a hit or miss effort, basically showing that no one knows why these lights are on. Sometimes another light comes on and then when you shut the car off and start it later it is off. Sometimes the red triangle goes off for over a week, then comes back on for no apparent reason. I changed the hybrid battery, then found out nothing was wrong with the other battery. The computer was changed and that wasn't the problem. There is likely some sort of minor short that doesn't affect anything but puts that light on. It is registered thru July 2016. I believe that it will continue to work fine for years even if the weird light is on for those years. The light has been on for about 6 months now and the car is very dependable, always starts up, never gives me any crap (other than the light on.) It gets the best mileage per gallon of anything I've ever owned. It's comfortable, has decent room and ice cold air conditioning. Also, I put new brakes and rotors on it last year. We are selling not because the light is on, but because we recently purchased a newer car. Vehicle condition: It has approx 182,000 on it. These cars are known to be able to get 300,000 or more on them as you'll read if you google them and as evidenced by the many taxi companies that use them. As I mentioned, I replaced the hybrid battery with a good used one a few months ago, so you should have no battery concerns. This car is in reasonably good looking condition inside and out. It does have some scratches and dings here or there. Hood and bumper have some stone chips. The front bumper is a little imperfect and will need to be tweaked at a shop if you want it to be perfect. I was going to send it off to fix it but it's not very noticeable unless you are looking for it and I just never got around to it. It will likely take perhaps $600 or so to tweak the bumper and repaint the bumper and the hood. If I send it out to be fixed myself I would list it for sale for more, but rather than spend the money I'm going to just put the starting bid at $4995 and let you spend to fix it. Or not, if you are not that concerned about it. There is also a small lower bumper grill to replace and I already have the new part for you to install. If you do the bumper and hood paint and tweak, this will be a very good looking car. There are a couple of minor windshield chips from rocks also. Interior is in good condition with nominal wear. I had it thoroughly detailed including upholstery about a year ago. There was no smoking, no pets and no kids in it at least as long as I've owned it. When looking at this auction and wondering whether to buy it or not, notice that I have top rated plus after my name. Some of these other guys have maybe a 1 after their name, or a not too good score. Would you rather buy from someone with a huge amount of great feedbacks, almost all on items that he sold (please, take a look!) after his name, or someone with only a digit or so after his name or a lamo score? :) Payment: Buying from a private seller means no hidden dealer fees. I've seen $150, $250, $395, $250 plus 5% (that's $5 for every hundred, equaling $50 per thousand, etc), even $895 in hidden dealer fees on cars on ebay. Not a dime of that crap here. Beware of people selling cars on ebay that do not have their own name on the title! This is very common on ebay. These guys buy it at a good price from someone else then list it and try to make a few bucks turning it over. This can cause you a lot of headache trying to get a new title for it. Rest assured that this clean California title has MY name on it! A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the close of the auction. This is to be paid in person if you are local or via paypal if you are not. Balance to be paid in full within 3 days and car picked up within 7 days, paid via cash or certified check. I will be happy to assist in picking you up at the airport or train station. I have described this car as honestly as I can think of at this time of writing. This car is sold as-is with no warantees or guarantees. There are no refunds for any excuse whatsoever, dash lights, etc. The deposit is NOT refundable! No exceptions. Make sure that you want it before you bid. If you are serious about buying this car, you'll be glad you did. Also, if you need a good used XP laptop cheap, take a look at our store. Thanks!
