Vehicle Detail

She's no trailer queen but always happy to tow one if needed. This '78 Jeep J10 is a solid truck. It had been sitting for quite some time before our shop rescued it. The previous owner tried to practice their wiring/electrical skills and were very unsuccessful. Our mechanic went through and replaced and loomed most of the wiring under the hood. A new starter solenoid was added along with new battery cables and also took the starter apart and cleaned the brushes. Everything works as it should now. The motor hadn't been ran in 10+ years but now starts and runs like a champ, but does smoke a little. The more it is driven though, the less it smokes. It is solid without any knocks. It also has posi-trac. Nearly everything on this truck is original including the paint and interior. There is surface rust in the floor boards, but no rust through. The body is also free from any rust through. It was born and raised in dry Wyoming so there is no need to worry about the bones of this beauty. She has many years of life left and will make a great truck for someone A little about the Honcho...from Wikipedia The Honcho was a trim package on the J10 pickup, offered from 1976-1983. It consisted of bold striping and decals, and was offered with factory extras such as the Levi's interior or a roll bar. The content of the Honcho package varied from year to year, but "always included the wide-track look of the Cherokee Chief."[5]The Honcho was one in a series of special decal packages offered for J-Series trucks in the mid to late 1970s, which included the Golden Eagle[6] and the "10-4" which offered an optional Citizens' Band radio along with the decals. The Honcho package was only available on the sportside (stepside) and short bed trucks. Between 1980 and 1983, only 1,264 of the sportside versions were produced. On Oct-18-15 at 18:07:14 PDT, seller added the following information: I made a mistake in the description... hopefully everyone could see in the pics, but it is a manual transmission and not an automatic. I apologize for the error.
