Short description: A freshened-up "Saleen modified SVT Cobra - Saleen Motor and Saleen Suspension" with a complete new forged engine based on Saleen's original Supercharged Performance Package. Also has an upgraded performance 5 speed transmission with hardened input shaft and Center Force clutch to hold the power, upgraded 31 spline alloy rear axles and Ford Racing posi and 3:73 gears, with 6 brand new Bilsteins shocks (yes 6), brand new 03' replica COBRA wheels 17 x 10.5 inch wide in back and 17 x 9 in front, brand new Sumitomo tires and alignment. Cold air, everything works and low miles on the odometer. Car drives like a new one but better with all of the Saleen suspension and Saleen power upgrades. Built to last on a fresh forged 302 V8 (30 over) motor featuring a billet crank, H-beam rods, JE forged pistons, Brodix heads, roller cam and much much more. You won't be disappointed with the car. And you won't find a nicer SN95 Cobra with a 5.0 anywhere. Hood and rear bumper are off a 1996 because they look nicer. For questions or to see the car, call my cell: 909-510-1167 A Timeline History of this COBRA built by SALEEN Racecraft:I have all of the receipts.In 1996 Saleen Racecraft in California did the following: Vortec VS1 supercharger, TFX heads, Saleen intake, 24 lb injectors, Fuel Management Unit (FMU), in tank high performance fuel pump and extra external fuel pump, Vortec / MSD boost timing retard controller, Saleen Headers, Borla exhaust, Saleen upper and lower rear suspension control arms, eibach lowering springs and sway bars and sub frame connectors ALL DONE by SALEEN in 1996 have paperwork. This car "was" the ultimate MUSTANG back in the 90's and this SALEEN Cobra "spanked" camaros and corvettes all day long for years to come. 2001 at 61,000 miles, the Motor was Rebuilt with forged bottom end by the famous Ford Builder, "Randy Ritchey" at Performance Associates in San Dimas California: Randy Ritchey used to tune for Saleen on his chassis dyno and build engines for Saleen Racecraft, back in the 90's... His dad was the legendary drag racer Les Ritchey.Randy did the following: selected a billet crank (from sonogram images of the raw billet), H beam rods JE pistons, Brodix Heads, BIG center force clutch, 31 spline alloy axles, Ford Racing clutch type posi with 3:73 gears, switched from VS1 to a VS2 Vortec (the more quiet one), changed the Vortec / MSD boost retard box to non adjusting and reprogrammed the stock computer to handle timing with another boost sensor, added a B&M short throw shifter, the 5 speed transmission was upgraded with many hardened parts like the input shaft and so much more, over $10,000 in receipts from this major drive-train overhaul and power upgrade. Now the car really spanked everything on the road. And 500 HP was a BIG deal in 2001.2001, the car gets parked mostly,It was at this same time in 2001 that street racing was getting cracked down on very hard in California. Speed bumps installed in all the spots for street racing. CARS WERE BEING "CRUSHED" WHEN CAUGHT STREET RACING $2500 fines were issued for modified exhaust and a 30 day impound of your car were very common, ...just for a set of headers.Random "mobile" emission check stations were set up all over Southern California with Police making sure you went through the check point...So the COBRA was parked in the garage mostly until 2013 for fear of getting a ticket. Rarely taken out on the street.2013 - I buy the car from my buddy and bring it to Tennessee by auto transport. 2015 at 66,000 miles - New Fuel Management System and Tune by Delk Performance in Tennessee: To update the cars idle characteristics and smooth out the power curve, new technology was in order. So Delk Performance removed all of the FMU (fuel management unit), removed the Vortec / MSD boost retard box completely, installed an intake temperature sensor, added a new MSD 6al box, new set of big Coyote injectors, extra sensors, Ford Racing Plug Wires and spark plugs, ford racing coil and fresh dyno tune (computer program). This made the car run much smoother throughout the power band and cost $2500 in receipts. Engine makes over 500 horse power at the crank, not bad for a 302... Its a mild tune on a new motor that will last for years to come. The motor is NOT stressed at all, its over built and under tuned (low boost) on purpose to make the engine last 100,000 miles. Runs like a champ now with the modern sensors and computer tune that adjusts the timing according to intake temperatures etc. Very safe tune now, you never have to worry about detonating the engine under boost, the old Saleen tune was just guessing and did not adjust itself.2015 at 66,000 miles - Brand new 03' Cobra wheels 17 x 10.5 inch wide in the back and 17 x 9 inch wide in the front, Brand New Sumitomo High Performance HTR Z II tires and Brand new Bilstein shocks all around (all 6 shocks were replaced). Over $2000 in wheels tires and shocks in receipts. The car really holds a corner nice like it should.2015 the rear bumper and the hood have been updated to 1996 Cobra, because they look nicer than the 1995 pieces: this cost an additional $1000 for the hood, bumper and paint to match the rio red. 2015 TODAY 66,550 miles and counting:The car is sitting in my garage and I have driven it a few times to the gym...Air blows Cold and the car drive super nice, like new.Nice lopy race cam idle. People are compelled to smile and say how GREAT the car sounds every where it goes, every traffic light, every parking lot...Super strong NEW motor that is very driver friendly (good tune - better than the original tune)Drives straight, with all new steering parts: rack bushings, inner and outer tie rod ends (tight steering).You won't be disappointed.
