Subaru Lovers! This is the car to own! High-end classic from 1989! UPDATE TO STORY BELOW!: Started it up and drove it. Engine and Transmission are great!! No leaks, etc. except from radiator area. It may have been punctured in accident. Here's the story. My brother bought this car a few years ago from an older gentleman who loved classic and rare, exotic-type cars. When he bought it, it was in good condition, all stock. My brother left it in his garage a few years, tinkering with it once in awhile. Finally, he got serious and spent lots of dollars on making sure she was completely road-worthy and a nice ride. He had the electronics, engine, tranny and all other items checked by Subaru carte-blanche. He wanted to know it was going to be a great car to drive. He also put brand new tires and brakes on it. Also had very expensive stereo and speakers installed, as well as fixing other interior odds and ends. ANYWAY, he stupidly, or mistakenly, sold it to a 16 year old that he was tutoring as a first car (Brother wanted to "change things in his life" including his cars). Without having even paid for it fully, within three days, the kid ran into a parked car while negotiating a left turn too widely. It was a low-speed collision. Also, unrelated to the accident, the front and rear side windows on passenger side glass need to be replaced. Now we have a rare, collectible beautiful Subaru that runs and drives great, all the maintenance completed, etc etc. with a dent in the front corner. My brother is worn out by this whole episode and hopes that we can sell this sporty classic to someone with a fresh outlook who wants to pull out the damage and replace the fender (which I have), etc. It's alittle work but the satisfaction of driving this XT6 is more than worth the trouble.
