The buyer of my Lotus will have scored quite a find. This is a rare model with both the touring and sport packages. Total number of 2005 Elise's sold are posted as 2363. That is for all models, but I have not been able to determine an actual count for the sport package plus touring package models. Obviously there aren't that many even possible. I have watched e-bay and I have not seen any other posted with such low mileage. That is at all - period. It's not had any modifications, and has pretty much only seen fair weather and lived most of it's existence in a climate controlled garage. My 2005 Lotus comes with; a car cover, which I have never used - always garage kept, Lo-Jack system, battery tender, and four of the specialty factory spec oil filters which have a bypass to provide lubrication even if the filter clogs, which are extremely difficult to find - trust me. If you are not already familiar with the Elise, do some looking around on the internet. It is quite an amazing super car. The 2005 is distinct since it is the last of the models with the true throttle cable rather than drive by wire. This really is a purists car. No power steering or power breaks, just does not need them being a car that weighs less than 2,000 pounds... more than 1000 pounds less than a Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper, Ferrari Modena or Porsche 911 GT3 and a better solemn speed than all of them. All while getting 23 mpg in the city/27 highway and at a fraction of the cost. This car is an amazing car to drive. Something like a go cart on rails that reads your mind. Think left and you are going left. Stops and turns on a dime with change left over.
