I am the second owner of this 2000 BMW 540i 6 speed manual. I purchased it from the original owner last fall, who purchased it new here in Boise, Idaho. I have all maintenance records for the car from new, including the original window sticker and sales paperwork. The BMW is in nice overall condition with no body or interior damage. I believe that it is in exceptional condition for a 15 year old car with 127k miles on it. It is a reliable car that I drive daily when the weather is nice. I have driven it as far as San Francisco (about 1200 miles round trip from Boise) without any issues. According to the window sticker, this 540i 6 speed has the following options: 16-way power comfort seats, fold-down rear seats with ski bag, heated front seats, and premium sound system with DSP. Since I’ve owned the car I have kept up with maintenance, including replacing the valley pan (and associated seals), changing the transmission fluid and engine oil, and replacing a failed window regulator. The only things on the car not currently functioning are the 6 CD changer in the trunk (the stereo still works fine) and the electric release for the trunk (still opens fine with the key). It does leak a little bit of engine oil and I think that the second gear synchronizer feels a little bit worn, but it does not crash or crunch when shifting and it hasn’t affected drivability for me. I have a clean Idaho title in my name ready to be signed over to the buyer. Local pickup or shipping arrangements will be the buyer’s responsibility.
