Vehicle Detail
Here is a great opportunity to own what could be a very nice muscle car! This is a true "Barn Find" as it was off road and stored in a barn since 1990. (26 years). This car is a 1967 Mustang GT Fastback (S code) 390 with a 4 speed and a 3.25 Limited Slip Rear Axel. The car also came with Factory Air Cond., Power Steering and Tinted Glass. The car will need a total restore to bring it back to life but i have seen a heck of alot worse ones brought back! The original block is long gone but it has been replaced with a 68- 390 block using parts (i think according to the numbers) Heads, Intake Manifold and Carb. off the 67. The 68 motor in it has been rebuilt with new rings, bearings, gaskets, cam & lifters but never fired up. It does turn over though so nothing is froze up ect.. It also has a new Pressure Plate, Disc Plate & Throw Out Bearing that was installed when they rebuilt the engine so half of the battle to restore this car is done! The transmission shifts good (sitting still!) and it still has the original 3.25 rear gears in it. The car also has Disc Brakes. The car will definitly need a one piece floor and a drivers side support floor frame and torque box but the front & rear frame rails are in excellent condition and won't need any work! The body will need some attention also and a new paint job. The rear fold down seat is missing (don't ask me where it is, it was gone when i got the car! along with the two front hood scoops and the front parking lights. Other then that the car is fairly complete but i make no promises everything is there.I know the Air Conditioner (see pictures) is in the trunk but at least it's still around! Anyway, with some work this could be one heck of a nice car worth 50-60k restored. I do have a Marti report for it (pictures) saying what it came from the factory with. Winner to pay by wire transfer or certified money orders and to make and pay any and all shipping charges & arrangements. The car will not leave my premises until funds have been verified good. Now the bad part! I have no title for the car although i know it's free of liens ect..The state i live in wants me to jump thru hoops and spend alot of money to title the car just because it needs a restoration and has been off road for 26 years. They want to have you finish it off, give them all the reciepts you spent on it and then they inspect it and charge you sales tax on what they value the car at! (probably high book!) or they might make me get a bonded title for it which i believe is one and a half times it's value. Do some checking what your state will make you do before you bid on this car. I know Wisconsin has some smart legislators that have made it cheap and easy to title "barn finds" and old cars with lost titles ect..as long as they have a VIN # which this car does and i think there are other states like that! Check first before you bid!!
