1966 Volkswagen Split Window Westfalia Poptop Bus The first generation of Volkswagen buses were built from 1949 to 1967, and are known as split-window buses or 'splitties''. Production of Volkswagen camper variants continued to 2003, and was based on the Kombi, then the Vanagon, then the LT Mk 1, then the Transporter. The Exterior is in very good condition. No visible rust and the paint reflects attractively from the radiant sun. It was painted two tone: Cream White and Sea Green. Good tires all around with painted white rims. The Interior is clean with the new Westfalia original Camel Tan. Curtains was install for some privacy. There are tables folds down when not in use or when the bench seat pulls out to make the bed. This camper comes with a ice box with a working faucet. There is a minor leak on the faucet that will require a new fitting ring. As the design was so elementary, VW turned out 90 different body amalgamations over the first five years. These variations included buses, pick-ups, fire engines, ambulances, beer wagons, refrigerated ice-cream vans, milk floats, mobile butchers shops, bread vans, mobile grocers, ordinary delivery vans and the more familiar camper (the last variation). The Poptop has no holes, rips or stains because it is BRAND NEW! One person can raise and lower it with ease. It a very cool factor and is convenient as you can walk around the bus not worrying if you are going to bump your head. The 1600 stock Engine turns on every time. The running lights, brake, and turn signal works as well. Yes the horn even works! By the way, this classic Volkswagen is an everyday driver.
