Vehicle Detail
1969 Dodge Charger General Lee. This is a driver quality car that is not perfect. It looks great from a distance but there are flaws that are apparent up close. It is a project car, please understand this fact. I bought it with good intentions of completely rebuilding it, but now find that I dont have the time. It runs, drives, and stops decent. Engine runs ok, is a 318 from a 1985 Chrysler Fifth Ave, transmission is professionally rebuilt in May 2015 - is a 904 with shift kit.- seems to leak transmission fluid after car returned from local mechanic - so Im sure its a line or something super simple. I did confirm the casting date on the block. From researching it, I understand this is a roller cam engine with fast burn type heads. New dual exhaust and tires. Wheels are 10 spoke Vectors with spacers/adapters. Master power key switch with pushbutton ignition. Steering is manual. Interior : has non-stock racing seats that in my opinion need replaced with stock seats. Back seat is stock and needs recovering. Guages, radio, turn signals, horn, wipers are not hooked up. Has small rust hole in driver floor pan - for a complete restoration, driver floor pan will need to be replaced - easy fix when non-stock seats removed. Somewhere down the road I would put another trunk pan in for completeness, though is still solid. Exterior: body is pretty straight. Driver door needs minimal adjustment in alignment with body on handle side of door,(for looks) -opens / closes very easily and without any difficulty. There is some non-stock/non-professional metal and filler patching in the trunk, tail panel (from a ’70 Charger as seen in pics), and rear fenders/quarters, I am told. Needs lower - rear window trim, or rescure existing. Also left leaf spring needs replaced. Work I have completed on The General: edelbrock 600 4 bbl carb edelbrock alum high performance intake, replaced all of front end / steering parts replaced 4 shocks replaced timing cover/ oil pan gasket/ chg oil / water pump gaskets replace plugs, wires, air intake clean, paint, and replace valve covers replace alternator bracket / belt rebuild transmission w/ shift kit replace heater core replace heater hoses replace radiator hoses (upper / lower) replace fuel line under hood replace thermostat change oil in rear differential ujoints in drive shaft checked - new. Bodywork and Paint not professional. Will need a new windshield due to a few cracks and leaks. Passenger side floor had been patch welded but not professionally. Taillights / brake lights work. Headlight doors must be manually lifted (vacuum system needs rebuilt). True mileage is unknown. This General is an attention getter. It gets a lots of looks, whistles, horn blows and thumbs up when on the road. Its a fun car to drive, talk about, work on, and tinker with. As I said, I’m selling the car because I have too many other projects that I need to finish right now. I will not be able to put time in on this car now or any time in the near future. Feel free to ask questions! I want bidders to be confident in what they are bidding on with no surprises. I’ve tried to describe as best as possible. Email questions to my personal account and I will get back with you. GL01cw@yahoo.com. Again, I’m listing this car with the intent to sell, so please only bid if you are serious. Car will be sold AS IS WHERE IS, with no warrantees discussed, expressed, or implied. Accepts Bank Transfer, Wire, Cashiers Check(when cleared), and Paypal. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I will help ship as long as the buyer makes all arrangements for pickup and delivery. I can help load it on a transport trailer. CLEAN title, in hand, and in my name. *****Payment: $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 24hrs of auction closing.
