Here is an opportunity to own one of the rarest Fox body Fords. Offered at auction I have a VERY nice , clean unmolested 1985 Mercury Capri RS 5.0 H.O. 5 speed. One of only 3283 produced in this combination. Production numbers for the Capri RS were far less than the Mustang GT due to its nearly $2000.00 higher price tag 1985 marked some significant changes for the Capri RS. This was the first year of the roller cam equipped 210 horsepower 5.0 H.O. and the last year of the 4 barrel carbureted version of the 5.0 . A revised suspension also gave the RS much better handling , along with 15"X7" Alloy wheels with 225/60/R15 performance tires. The Mercury cousin to the Mustang GT , the Capri RS had a very unique aggressive styling that set it apart from the Mustang. This particular RS is exceptionally clean, solid , and all stock. Once you drive this car you will know that it was never abused. Equipped as follows: 5.0 H.O. 4V (4barrel carb) engine, T5, 5 speed manual transmission, limited-slip differential, Power steering and brakes, Air-conditioning (needs charge), power windows, tilt steering wheel, fold down rear seat, remote fuel-door release, Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo with 4 premium speakers in factory location. Also ,4 Brand NEW Falken 225/60/R15 performance radial tires (less than 100 miles!), NEW 600 cfm Holley replacement carburetor, distributor cap ,rotor and wires, battery, engine oil and filter, differential oil , 2 new mufflers with correct tail-pipes. This Capri spent the majority of its life in Virginia and is rock solid. It was recently refinished in its correct color, Medium Canyon Red Metallic Basecoat/Clear-coat , wet sanded and buffed to a high gloss. Very nice driver/cruise-night quality job. Shines like a mirror. Clean, solid undercarriage . The interior is extremely clean. Appears to have always been a non-smoker, cigarette lighter never used .The upholstery shows very little wear . Carpets are clean. Door panels are excellent. Dash pad has a couple sun cracks in center speaker grille. Console armrest-lid has a small split along one seam, hardly noticeable. Instrument panel is excellent, all gauges and lights work as they should. All power accessories work as they should. Digital clock still keeps perfect time! This car has a 5 digit odometer which reads 00290, so I am assuming that it has just turned over, HOWEVER ,you would never know it by the condition and how it drives! You will not be disappointed. Mechanically this car excellent ! The 5.0 H.O. engine starts and runs flawlessly and has a sweet subtle exhaust rumble. The transmission shifts effortlessly and the clutch is smooth and positive. And when the mood strikes you , this car runs like "a bat out of hell"! Overall the car is tight with no squeaks or rattles. Drives amazing for a 30+ year old car! Goes down the road straight and is an absolute BALL to drive. Gets the "thumbs-up at every stop-light. How often do you see one of these?
