Thank you! 1984 MERCEDES BENZ 500 SEL AMG 5.4 I am pleased to offer this incredible 1984 Mercedes Benz 500 SEL AMG 5.4. The VIN # for this Mercedes 500 SEL AMG is WDB1260371A020261. This Mercedes has 3 documented owners with service records since 3500 miles. There is a Carfax report showing minor accident damage to the rear of the car. I have taken many detailed pictures so please allow that to be part of the description. The Mercedes belongs to my friend of many years so any questions will be answered as quickly as I can obtain pertinent information. I was told the car has no mechanical issues, is cosmetically excellent, original Penta Wheels, new tires and everything works. He also states that he has the original radio receiver and amplifier. The car was originally owned by Marvin Charter who had the car built. The engine is a 5.4 liter strocker motor of AMG parts. This is a California car. The paint and body quality are superb by my assessment. There are no dings, dents or ugly blemishes. It is hard to find a stone chip or even light scratch. All of the glass is superb. The lights and lenses are free of any cracks and the original lenses are available. This of course is a very unique AMG product and worthy to be in anyone’s collection. The comparable car today would be an S65 AMG at a cost of nearly $200,000.00. The 500 SEL AMG is one of the last cars built by AG America in Chicago, IL before AMG was acquired and brought in-house by Mercedes-Benz. This Mercedes is considered a gray market car as it was brought into the states and was modified to meet D.O.T requirements. It was then sent to AG America. AG as per Mr. Charters order did the following: Modified the engine to 5.4 liters. Installed the ground effects package front and rear, rear spoiler and side rails. It was debagged and remains that way. All bright work modified to the body color. Interior enhancements include additional burl walnut décor, sheepskin floor mats, rear foot rest, sport steering wheel, and rear privacy curtain. Other enhancements include a built in radar detector, Pioneer sound system with sub woofers and amp. This AMG rides on correct Penta wheels with near new Michelin tires.
